You forgot that they want to take away guns from law abiding citizens, so that only criminals will have guns, and the rest of the law abiding population lives in constant fear of being attacked and having no way to defend themselves....

I'm a Republican and I believe in a strong government that can keep its citizens disciplined. These things you list help Americans live a better life. For example, you complain about having the Government worry about your health and protecting the environment. Come on. A strong assertive government is what makes America a super power. Move to Amsterdam where they don't care about you if you don't like it.

humorous, i'm a liberal and loathe the theory-approximately government taking on each and every factor of my existence. i might have confidence in taxation to assist initiatives in my state, to feed the undesirable in my state, and to domicile the disabled in my state.. yet i do no longer want the government to have any functionality exterior of allotting the money (in my state) to fund such initiatives, as nicely as uphold the comparable regulation that maximum conservatives consider, truthfully I even locate many of the present regulations to be too limiting of liberty.

The biggest reason is because of people with entitlement feelings. They want the government to give them handouts in the form of welfare and nationalized healthcare. Of course the government is happy to oblige because that allows them to creep further into controlling our lives. Ultimately, it is the goal of the liberals for the government to control every aspect of our lives, leaving us with no privilege of of making any decisions for ourselves. And we have ourselves to blame.

They attempt to do this because they have to justify their jobs. The goal of most politicians is to remain in power, if not to expand their power. The more bureaucarcy that they can create, the more likely they will remain in power.

Politicians try to control your lives because that's their career choice -- they get off telling people what do do.
Liberals don't try to control your life. They just try to stop you from interfering in other people lives, and liberal Democrats want to take your money.
Conservatives are the ones who try to control your behaviors.
As far as your examples, almost every one (other than about taking your money) is incorrect. Especially your misunderstandings about the fairness doctrine and unions. But don't let reality interfere with your rant.

"We just can't trust the American people to make those types of choices.... Government has to make those choices for people"
(From the book "I've Always Been A Yankee Fan" by Thomas D. Kuiper, p 20 - Hillary to Rep. Dennis Hastert in 1993 discussing her expensive, disastrous taxpayer-funded health care plan)
