according to me if you are a REAL passimist, then you will never expect anything to turn out well. When you think that no matter what "i cannot win" ; at that time you become fearless .
you are no more frightened of failure as you have nothing to win at all.
for me when a person falls to the lowest possible form of pessimism , he becomes free of his fear. human beings only fear the unknown .
but when you think you know what is about to come"i.e failure in this case" then ofcourse such people are no more dissapointed.
you are dissapointed only when initially you had high hopes in life & you failed.
but pessimist does not hope for the best at all. if they do hope ,you shouldn't call them passimists.
so NO HOPES, NO DISSAPOINTMENT

My reaction: It's not true.
A pessimist is going around being disappointed over how things are and how they are going "down the hill". He's disappointed over how things could have been better but never will be.

a pessimist always thinks things will end up badly. if theyre right and something ends in an unfavorable situation, then they can say they were right and get some satisfaction out of that. if theyre wrong and the situation has a favorable outcome, then they can be happy because things turned out better than they expected.

A pessimist is a disappointed optimist.
Just because you "know" something will end badly, doesn't mean you are "happy" about that fact. Pessimists are disappoint when they are right.
If they weren't, they wouldn't be pessimists. They would be neutral.

Not in the strict sense. But since they are pessimists they would never accept even disappointment too !

If all you expect is the bad, then you make it happen, whether you realize it or not. Personally, I'm disappointed in pessimists.

The initial reaction is that it is true. Usually something happens that they can label as expected. Not always real but enough to prove their point at least to them.

I think it is true. If you think the worst will happen, it will. Even if things are not that bad, the pessimist will percieve them as bad.

How can it not be true ? A person who continually expects the worst is never happy with less than the worst.
