So I decided the places in Salem were stupidly overpriced for October and opted to stay in Hull, MA for our honeymoon. We are staying at the Nantasket Beach Clarion Hotel and Spa. I know it isn't too far from Boston, but I'd like to spend some time in Hull as well. Any recommendations? From what I've read it's a quaint little beach town with lots of little shops and such.

Theres a ferry that will take you to Rowes Wharf .It leaves from Pemberton pt. That will take you through the "quaint" village to the "quaint" point of town where theres all sorts of old homes. Its a lovely boat ride ( I grew up on it so its lost its appeal - so sorry) and you can stop and visit some of the Harbor Islands - Georges Island for example has Fort Warren on it - a Civil War fortification, complete with its own ghost.
From there the boat can take you right into Boston.
As for restaurants, visit Schooners - I do miss that place! Its right on the main st -lol - theres only one way into town and one way out...so of course its on the main strip...
Theres also Ft. Revere & the Life Saving museum, where the Coast Guard was founded..
For even more quaintness, visit the surrounding towns of Cohasset & Scituate - lots of old homes and antique shopping.

Hi,
There is not a lot to do in Hull. Nantasket is a great beach at low tide. The slope is very gradual so there is a lot of beach, and not a lot of rocks. High tide eats the beach up though and depending on the section you might find no beach at all (the water comes up to the sea wall). There is not much to do in Hull. There is a the Hull Lifesaving Museum, and some beach shops and places to eat along the beach. There is an old carousel and a penny arcade, which are left over from the days of Paragon Park. There is a condo now where the amusement park use to stand.
Really Hull is a pennisula, you will need a car to "go" anywhere. If you are just looking for a relaxing time on the beach it could fit the bill. There is a Ferry out of Hingham (not too far away, but still out of walking distance) to Boston, that would make a good day trip.
Enjoy!

The beach is nice and you can take a ferry to Boston from there. There isn't alot to do in the town (other than the beach). There are some good restaurants in Hingham harbor, about 5 miles away.

Hull sucks especially in October. Should have spent the extra $ and stayed in Salem which is the place to be in October.
