A total, complete, unmitigated partisan lackey of bush. Just like every single member of this administration.
“As a District Court Judge, Bates dismissed the GAO's effort to learn with whom Cheney's energy task force conferred."
"Judge Bates spent two years working for Kenneth Starr and the Independent Counsel's office during the investigation into President Bill Clinton, specifically Deputy Independent Counsel under Ken Starr from September 1995 until leaving in March 1997.”

He's the judge who was assigned to the case.
And from the ruling, he was correct as a matter of law. There were federal statutes that provided immunity to the govt officials named as defendants.
Read his ruling. He specifically said that what happened to her was a bad thing, and that he was NOT ruling on the merits of the case. He was only dealing with the procedural issues, which required dismissal.
I wish people would stop trying to make this a partisan issue. The judge followed the law as it was passed by Congress.
And I wish people would stop bashing judges for following the law. The judge is not the person who wrote the law.

i couldn't get your link to work but it is easy to see what you are attempting to do and negating his decision as biased.
the suit was dismissed because the premise for the law suit proved that it was false.
the Wilson's stated that Valeria was 'outed' to punish Joe for reporting information that the administration didn't like but it was proved that he lied about who and why he was sent on this trip and the information he reported.
Bob Novak was the one who supposedly outed her and according to him:
.” He says he learned that she had already been outed by a Soviet spy, “which had ended her career as a covert agent long before I wrote about her.”
another attempt to prove that the current administration is all powerful , vindictive and the judge is in 'their pockets'. it won't fly with me.

It is called enforcing the law.
Valerie wanted to make a show of it.
She is part of the CIA who leaks information and does anything to make Bush look bad.
Read "Sabotage"
Than maybe you will get a clue what Valeria was really about.

I would say a judge who saw this for what it was. A shake down by an opportunist who has lost their clout.
