Some say they exist, others say that they do not. But how
is it posssible to see something, that you know is not
made in this world, and come to grips with reality at the
same time. Thinking that hey, maybe their are some
government style airships, that we have never even
seen. I mean like ultramodern high tech equipment
here folks. Top secret too. Their was a jumbo jet pilot,
who said he and his entire passenger fleet, saw a
UFO. This was on CNN.... Do you think this is possible,
that they saw aliens. He said the spacecraft was unlike
anything he had ever seen. Including hundreds of others
on the plane. Do you believe that UFO'S truly exist ?

Of course, anything you see in the sky, and don't know what it is = UFO.
The CNN programme was later shown to be a planet !

I think the majority of UFO stories always seem to turn out to be top-secret experimental aircraft that aren't due to enter service for many years. I mean, if you'd seen the USAF B2-Spirit bomber head on and you didn't know of its existence, you would 100% say it was an alien aircraft of some kind. It so looks like a flying saucer.

But even when all the mistakes etc are thrown out, there's still always 3-4% of events that have rock-solid back up, very trustworthy eye-witnesses etc and yet they still can't be explained. The one that always baffles me is that collection of lights in a triangle shape that passed across Western Europe around 96-97 (I think) that was seen by literally millions of people and filmed by proper news agencies etc. Was there ever an explanation for that?

I reckon considering that I personally think it's inevitable that there isn't other life (considering the size of the universe/probability etc) then there must be UFO's i.e. alien visitors (and yes, I know what UFO literally means).

Well like some others have said, I believe that many people see unidentified flying objects, BUT just because THEY can't identify what those objects are doesn't mean it's something unexplainable or beyond our comprehension, and it certainly doesn't mean it's little green men from outer space! More likely it's government stuff because if it WASN'T then it would have been shot down BY the government for fear it was some type of war device or something. And as for Roswell I believe that they were probably just doing scientific experiments there, and everything got blown out of proportion, Aliens are probably just used as a cover up for something way more serious anyways. But you know we're sheeple and would rather believe in make believe than face reality.

Can't say I believe in UFOs in the sense that they are alien spacecraft. I do however think that a better term is MFO (Misidentified Flying Object) which I am sure sure accounts for a great majority of apparent sightings. The remaining tiny minority of sightings that cannot be attributed to MFOs may have to remain unexplained.

I think it likely that there are other lifeforms out there given that we are here, the chances that we are alone in the universe seems so perverse given the sheer number of other stars out there. But, whether we'll ever see ET, let alone visit them (or they visit us), is something else. The distances are so vast and the difficulties of spending so long in space so great I think it unlikely that we'll be able to travel to them for centuries.

And if, and this is a big if, if they have been here one assumes that they must be far advanced in comparison to us. I can't help wondering if they would have the slightest bit of interest in us. After all, compared to them we are savages who have yet to travel beyond the Moon. We can't even agree on which God (if there is one) to worship. And as some have commented, we are noted for two things - fornication and shiny objects.

So, in short, I'm not convinced we have been visited and I don't believe in UFOs.

The term UFO is too vague. It just means something in the sky that cannot be identified by any known classification.

A UFO does not automatically mean an alien spaceship but as you can see from my avatar's background. I do believe that it is worth going out there and that we will find something. If there aren't any space-faring life forms, that means one of two things.

1. We are alone in the universe; the only intelligent lifeforms

2. We are the most advanced lifeforms in the universe

I find both conclusions equally sad.

Yes I do,some years ago I was talking to my next door neighbour around dusk,I saw a black shape in the sky, after a few seconds it shot off at a teriffic speed,I didnt say anything at the time because I did not want my neighbour thinking I was a bit odd, after several minutes had passed I could not resist saying something and my neighbour had seen it,he described it exactly has I saw it,black shape,no flashing lights as in most UFO sightings, that was the strangest thing I have ever seen in the sky.

Of course they do. Unidentified Flying Objects means something that is unidentifiable and is flying. It does not necessarily refer to a spacecraft of an origin other than Earth. It could literally be anything. People see something in the sky and it becomes a UFO. It isn't necessarily a mystery.

Yes. I believe Area 51 has the alien artefacts and UFOs there since 1954. I believe the US government is hiding something from the world.

UFO - yes, I am a keen amateur astronomer, spend a lot of time looking at the sky and often see objects I can not readily identify.

It is a quantum leap of logic, however, to ascribe an extraterrestrial explanation to something just because I can not positively identify it as an aircraft!

WE saw something once right after the 9-11 incident so you know the skies were being watched carefully and it was very unexplainable but I believe that they come from our government. Although you'd think they'd use them in Iraq but of course our president is not the smartest man in the seat so who knows. It's all strange isn't it and sad when you've seen something unexplained and when you tell someone they think you're bonkers.

I have seen one.

But the fact that I didn't know what it was is no proof it was an alien space ship. UFO is just an acronym for Unidentified Flying Object; is does not mean alien space ship.
