Wow, two weeks is PLENTY! You would be able to see and do everything you want to and take your time. I usually go with my family for about a week or so, and there is always something that we miss or wish we could see again.

I would strongly suggest a couple of things. First of all stay at one of the Disney resorts. Staying at the Disney resorts is the best way for you to get the most of your Disney visit regardless of how long you stay. They are competitive in price with just about everything else in Orlando, you get the famous Disney first class service and you get something that no one else can give, PERKS. Disney takes care of their resort guests. There is the Extra Magic hours, where one park is open early and one late for resort guests only. There is free transportation to and from Orlando Int'l Airport for each of the resorts. Unlimited use of the Disney transportation system (the off site resort have shuttle service, but you are on their time not your own. Plus some of them charge extra for it, like a cab service.) Staying with Disney gives you the best experince, by far.

When purchasing your tickets, especially if your staying for that length of time, at the very least add the Park Hopper option. The park hopper option to your ticket allows you to come and go as you please, where the base ticket only allows for one park per day. For example, say you have spent the day at the Animal Kingdom, and want to catch the Fantasmic fireworks and light show at MGM in the evening. You are only able to do that if you have the park hopper option. It just gives you the flexibility you need to have the best vacation possible!

If you need some more info there are a few places I would recommend. First, go to the Disney website. It is very easy to use, and you can check out a description of each of the rides and attractions, and use the resort comparison tool to decide which resort will be right for you. Next, check out the disboards. The disboards is a message board type website all about going to Disney. You can ask questions, get resort reviews, dining reviews, trip reports, tips and tricks from people who go often and know what they are talking about, and much more. There is even a section about the rest of Orlando, including Sea World and Universal, etc. Finally, go to the local bookstore and get the Birnbaum's guide to WDW. There are a ton of guide books out there, but that is the one we have always found the most factual and most informative.

Hope this helps, have a great trip!

To answer your question, 2 weeks will be enough, but for the last time Disney World is not in Orlando! It is 30 miles away from Orlando and it take an hour to get there.

Two weeks will probably do for the Disney World parks - if you want to go to the other places in Orlando, you'll need at least another week.

To see what's at Disney World, check out http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/parks/parkOverview?id=ParkOverviewPage

At Disney World, in addition to the 4 parks (Magic Kingdom, MGM, Animal Kingdom and Epcot) there are 2 water parks, DisneyQuest (an indoor virtual amusement park), lakes where you can rent all sorts of water craft, golf courses, spas and all sorts of other activities (like tennis, etc). Shopping is NOT a problem. There are Disney stores of every variety at the Disney Marketplace (and at all the parks, and your resort if you stay on Disney Grounds). If you stay at one of the Disney Resorts (I always do), they'll even transport your purchases back to your room for free (so you don't have to carry them around - and can buy more stuff!).

A good time to go is off the peak seasons - September, for instance. It's cheaper, and there are fewer people. I often go in January (though it's not quite warm enough to go to the water parks, it's still very pleasant), and it's not crowded at all. Summer is too hot and too crowded.

Do purchase "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2007" by Bob Sehlinger to make sure you don't miss what Disney has to offer, and also to cut your waiting time in lines.
Disney can take a solid week to do the theme parks and water parks. (forget the water parks November through February, it's pretty cold). I think Universal and Sea World can be done in 3 or 4 days. Figure you will spend a few days in between to do laundry and shopping. You can easily fill out three weeks if you want to do some side attractions like Disney Quest, renting boats, Downtown Disney Marketplace, Universal Citywalk, etc.

You have some great answers here so far. I don't know exactly what you are planning to do. but Disney has 2 great water parks you may want to attend and there is Universal Studios and Sea World. If you are planning to include those then I'd say 3 weeks. If your just doing Disney World alone then 2 weeks would be adequate

Two weeks is more than enough time to see every Disney park, Sea World, Universal and shop. Don't forget to check out Pleasure Island & Universal City Walk at night. You could even fit in a stop in Tampa for Bush Gardens & St. Augustine. If you decide to stay a 3rd week you have time to visit Miami & the Keys. Definitly get a hotel in S. Beach even if it's not beach front as long as it's on Collins ave you'll just have to cross the street to get to the beach. Hope you're over 21 cause all the clubs on the beach are 21+.

Have fun : )

Of course three weeks is better, the more the merrier. The only thing I have done in Orlando is Disney World, and we usually spend a little over a week, so if you want to do all that Orlando has to offer three weeks sounds great. Have a blast

Three weeks is best you can spend two just in disney (stay at a disney hotel/resorts saves the hassle of parking free transport to the parks) etc lets you try it all and revisit your favourites.
Just been over in April and did that and spent the last week seeing some of the rest of florida theres more to the place than mickey mouse.
If you go to universal pay the extra cash for fastpasses otherwise you will be queuing for hours a real drag in the hot sun. In disney don't miss thestunt shows at mgm and fire works at night really good.
The rest of Florida get a hire car (essential) and book hotels. Must sees NASA (awesome), St Augustine the oldest city and if you can fit it in a trip down to the keys.
have a great time

Three is definitely better. I live in Florida and have been to Disney several times. You're going to want that third week to get it all in without rushing. Especially if you don't know exactly where you're going around town. That place can be crazy some times. Have fun, but be safe.
