You will need a program to make an animated gif. A nice free program is GIMP you can get it here http://www.gimp.org/.

Here are several links on how to use GIMP to make animated gif's:

Hope this helps and good luck!

First off let's describe the reason to choose one format over another:

Normally, .jpg files are smaller than .gif files of the same image, but the .gif format supports transparency, while .jpg does not.

There are several programs that support format conversion.

--Paint Shop Pro, by JASC, has already been mentioned and is a great tool.

--GIMP is available as a "PortableApp" that will run from a USB drive, without installing it to each computer.

--Any of the high-end image processing tools can also do it. (Photoshop or similar products.)

Once you have chosen the tool to use, open the .jpg file and use "save as" to create a .gif format copy.

I do not know of any tools that will do mass file type conversions.

Hope this Helps,

You can use the Paint program included free in Windows. It is usually in the Accessories menu on the Start menu.

Open the jpg files, and resave them using the "save as" option next to where you type in the file name. Just use the pull down list to select "gif". The file will be resaved as a gif file.

The best program I have found for converting picture files for one format to another, as well as editing/combining pics and graphics has been paint shop pro. There are shareware versions on the web available for download, but they have limited life. Last version I got was $99.
