Loss of color is usually due to stress. I would agree to check the water conditions or do a partial water change (25%).

Guppies should have some salt in their water (a tablespoon per 5 gallons is good), and they can live in full strength saltwater if you acclimate them slowly, so I doubt very much that you have too much salt.

no it shouldnt be from lack of salt at all if you do add salt make sure you are not adding to much loss of color could be from bad water conditions and to much salt will turn a fresh water tank into a brackish water it could also be from the water temp being to cold fish lose color and become less active in cooler water you could also try to feed him (or her hahaha) some other types of food like brine shrimp or daphnia or blood worms good luck hope his color comes back

try using brine shrimp to bring the color back I use it all the time and it works great
