What you need to do is learn a little music theory.
Learn the scales for each note, major and minor scales. Chords are triads ( the 1st, 3rd & 5th notes in each scale).
Since you have a PC start here:

http://library.thinkquest.org/15413/theory/theory.htm

use google and search for music theory and go from there.

Please, tell me where you live! It's hard enough for me to get bookings, and I'm in 3 bands, study music and have been playing for 15 years!

In order to learn more chords you will need to understand some things about music theory.

Essentially basic chords are formed of three notes - the first, third and fifth degrees (notes) of the scale. So for instance the scale of C major is C D E F G A B (C) - the first note is C, the third is E and the fifth is G - this is what gives you the three notes of your chord (known as a triad because it has three notes).

Therefore to work out the triad of D major you take the 1st 3rd and 5th notes in the scale of D, which is
D E F# (# means sharp) G A B C# (D) - so your notes are D F# and A.

It works in a similar way for minor chords. The scale of A minor is A B C D E F G# (A) - you take your 1st 3rd and 5th to get A C and E

You can get much more complicated chords by adding different degrees of the scale. For instance if the composer wanted you to play a chord of C with a more interesting Bb (b means flat) in it he would write this as C7 (please note - there is no Bb in the scale of C - it is conventional to AUTOMATICALLY flatten a 7 unless told otherwise)

Therefore if you saw C7 written you would play C E G Bb - Bb is your (automatically flattened) 7th note in the scale of C.

I hope this makes some sort of sense, but it's quite hard to explain not knowing how much you understand of music theory. It would probably be best for you to at least buy a beginer's guide to music theory; or even better to get yourself some lessons.

how come you getting bookings when you can play such a limited amount of chords? This limits the type pof songs you can play too..

Im just wondering.. Im a guitarist and i got to learn many many chords and notes and scales. Is it easier on the keys? i doubt so..

Best way to learn is getting a Dummy guide type book and the internet... You got cash, get a Private tutor.

Guitar music has notes, but it also has the chords labeled, so you could use that as a reference especially if you already know the melody.
