I'm trying to write a mystery novel that takes place in NYC in 1925. Researching everyday life (from Atlanta) has been slow. I need to know where rich families would live, and where a police detective (married, with children) would live (who's beat was uptown).

The upper classes, lived mainly in Manhattan and Upstate New York( Hudson and East River areas) as well as Bronx , Brooklyn and Queens.
