Mud Daubers eat black widow spiders. As a matter of fact they eat all spiders, but they prefer the black widow. So, if you see a mud dauber don't harm it because they are docile and very beneficial.

Here is a site that discusses black widow spiders and lists mud daubers and their primary predator.

P.S. you really don't need to worry about black widows all the much because they are very shy, almost never come indoors unless brought in from outside. You'd have to turn over rocks, old wood, or look in dark crevices to find them.

Black widows looooove dark and damp. Remove all possibilities of that; log piles;junk piles, garages with a lot of "stuff" piled together, etc. Shoes or boots, gloves or hats placed near these areas are perfect hiding places.
Unfortunately, if you cannot do all of this, an entomologist/bug guy needs to be called in. Black widows and brown recluse spiders are dangerous ...and fascinating!

Chemicals, but must be applied often.
Bomb each room in your house with a fogger can, and spray around the foundation to kill eggs, etc.
A more organic alternative is to get some praying mantis eggs and have them hatch nearby. They'll eat the young spiders and keep bugs down

Hi, I Hate those things, I Hate those things,I Hate those things! But when I see them, believe me,they do not get away! I'll go hunting for them even. I wear my Tool Belt, Have my flashlight, And I Carrie my weapons on the sides . When I spot one, BOOM! I whip out my can of," Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive ." Then once I'm finished with the glue, I whip out my handy dandy can of "Spider Spray" . That stops them in their tracks! You just can't spray them with Insecticide, they run back into their holes, than they wash it off of their-selves. So that alone doesn't kill them. But when you use Spray Glue, They can't run! And you have to have Heavy Duty. I know the glue is expensive, but to me well worth it. The cost is around $12.00 . Then hit them with the bug spray ,Most brands will do, after they are glued to their webs, you get a real good aim at them. Works every time! I Hate those things! Bye

I've been told that moth balls work, if you can tolerate the smell. They say to put em under or outside your house.
