It means to not be afraid of new technology. Jump in with an open mind ready to welcome ("embrace") new ideas, programs, inventions, etc. and not become discouraged or overwhelmed just because it is "new." Remember, everything that we know was new to us at one time, yet somehow we learned all these things. Experience is the best teacher -- we learn by doing.

Keeping up with new technologies today is quite a chore. Everyday brings hundreds of new gadgets. The challenge is to explore and investigate the items that will make your life more interesting, easy or both.
Embracing these technologies, simply means to understand and use them to your best advantage. An example of this utilization is the fact that I am composing this answer with the speech recognition program that comes with the Vista Home Premiere Edition. Did not touch the keyboard once.
