That reminds me of a funny joke. Two men out hunting, one has a heart attack, the other rings 911 and asks what should I do I think my friend is dead, he has had a heart attack, the operator says, well first, make sure he is dead, silence on the end of the phone, then the sounds of a rifle shot peels out. The friend gets back on the phone and says, what next? LOLOLOLOLOL
As for the address question, they are probably confirming address, and that it is not a hoax call.

You must give your address. In an ideal situation, you won't be alone if something happens, so while one of you can give first aid, the other can call the ambulance. It is better to be safe than sorry. Plus! If the situation is bad enough for you to administer CPR, it is bad enough to call an ambulance.
Besides, what do you think will come from giving them the address? I don't think they will come and stalk you :)

Do you call them a lot? It seems like you have the whole conversation down pat. I think they just want to make sure it isn't some kids making prank calls, and yes, to ensure the proper address.

Verification is needed and if you call on landlines they usually have the address, but this is not always the case with a cell phone. They also ask for other information to asses the needs for response.

With caller ID enabled they usually know it anyway..I guess its SOP to sort out hoax calls made from a different number. Im sure theyre just checking to see if the number corresponds with whats showing on their screen.

Its really important for them to verify the address coz now a days, many ppl are just calling them for time pass and hence they find it to be hoax once they r on the scene.
So its ur dutt to cooperate with them for availing their service.

Hello, 911, what's your emergency?
My house is on fire!
What's your address?
I'm not going to tell you that, I don't even KNOW you.

If you want them to come to your house, then yes, give it to them. If you just want advice or something (which I don't know why you'd call 911 for advice), then no. They're not out to hurt or stalk you. They want to help.
