trying to be nice to people who go out of their way to either hurt you or be rude to you?

Yes, i do get tired of those types. But, i know that God is pleased with the work i do for others and it always makes me feel good inside and they can't take that away from me.

DEFINITELY! (Specifically, my youngest daughter...who used to be the sweetest child who loved everyone and tried to be a peacemaker if people weren't getting along; but as a young adult, she has become one of the most obnoxious, disrespectful, self-centered people I know!) I don't know what happened to turn her in to the person she is now, but I believe it is just a stage and I just continue to pray for God to give me the strength I need to walk in love, because I know in my heart that she's got some inner demons of her own that she's battling and the best thing I can do to help her through whatever it is that she's dealing with is to continue to show her unconditional love....(along with a little "tough love" occaisionally!)

I use to be just like that too nice to everyone. I thought it was the right thing but as I have gotten older I have realized that the more you help people the more they take advantage of you.

Yup. My sister-in-law. I do my best to try and get along with my in-laws, there is nothing worse than having to spend your Christmas in a house with people you can't stand. In my case I get along fine with my in-laws except for one. I just see her and she gets under my skin. I tried to be nice to her but she twisted things around to make it seem to her parents that I'm the one who's been dissing her, when in reality it's the other way around.

Yes! But I then go out of MY way to make them misrable and then I feel good about myself again!
