I just wanted to point out to virgil_clinton up there that nothing was writen about jesus until well over 50 years after his "rising again" stunt...also wilma_n didnt specify believers so I am going to assume she meant the muslim terrorists are sane but those of us who really dont want them shooting people, dropping planes etc are not?, or maybe you meant the early christians who killed anyone who was gnostic, agnostic, or anything else, OR maybe you meant the crusades!! well if they wont convert... rape their kids then will or they will die trying OH I see you meant the witch hunts they used to have to get rid of anyone who wasnt a christian... everyone sure loves a good toast at the stake... or maybe the french revolution, after all many of them thought god wanted there to be a free society and that it was time for them to no longer be oppressed...Death of Firstborn (11:1 - 12:36) מַכַּת בְּכוֹרוֹת
The tenth and final plague of Egypt was the death of all Egyptian first born males — no one escaped, from the lowest servant to Pharaoh's own first-born son, including first-born of livestock. This was the hardest and cruelest blow upon Egypt and the plague that finally convinced Pharaoh to submit, and let the Israelites go.

God told Moses that this plague would cause Pharaoh to send the Israelites away, and ordered him to prepare the people to leave. He also commanded Moses to teach the ritual of Pesah - the sacrifice of a lamb for God, and the eating of Matzot ("Poor-man's Bread" לחם עוני). God told Moses to order the Israelites to mark their doorpost with the lamb's blood, in order that the plague of death would pass over them.

At midnight, God came through Egypt to take the life of all the Egyptian first-born, including Pharaoh's own son. That night, there was a great cry in Egypt, such as had never been heard before, or ever will be heard again. However, no Israelite first-born was killed, as God "passed over" the Israelite houses.

After this, Pharaoh, furious and saddened, ordered the Israelites to go away, taking whatever they wanted. The Israelites didn't hesitate; and at the end of that night Moses led them out of Egypt with "arms upraised." [2]

or maybe god is just insane... who kills little kids? Ye shall not kill and all what the heck, what did those little kids ever do to him? Killing a kid to get to the parent is a major trick in the serial killer book so I know, I know God is really a serial killer, and that is why you are all so crazy! (I am not saying he does or doesnt exist just that he must be nuts off the rocker...)

Some people believe science, education, the logical reasons how we were created. Others believe faith, hope, and a needfulness to have a Creator. Each have their own experience and knowledge on what the believe in- or they wouldn't believe it.
Science has done and proved many things for us thats why many people believe the facts that are presented.
On the other hand the Bible is something that they whole human race is familiar with, they can't just disregard it like a piece of trash either.
And THEN you have other people who think there is no God, more than one God, it just keeps going on. Each have their own personally experience in what they believe. So I guess thats my answer.

=)

It is a intense discussion where people feel very secure is their beliefs. There are a lot of people that have been convinced through fear that there is a God and theirs is the best way to make God happy. There are people that believe in God because they don't like the alternative. There are people that blame the belief of god on all the evils of the world and decide that it can't be true because they don't like the religions. But very few people are ambivalent on that subject.

Some people believe that everyone should feel exactly the way they do. They don't stop to think that people are allowed to have different points of views and not everyone thinks and feels the same.

Like gamerunner said "They will Kill over it"

I guess that's why we need the power of Free Speech. It enables us to express a different point of view. Be thankfull for the Men and Women who sacrifce themselves to protect this freedom.

I've read the Bible, I'm still on the fence.
Regardless believe what's in your heart.

You are right about not being able to prove it in a scientific way to others. But on the other hand, we all have our own inner world that is not shared by everyone.

Now, if it is possible to have an inner experience that no one around you has had, then the proof may have come to that person on an individual level, but not to the people around him or her. Their friends and loved ones my just think, "Oh, that person has just gone mad!" So it depends on if you are the one with the experience or one of the others. The one who had the experience has to decide the validity of their own experience for themselves.

But you are right about the proof of it. It cannot be proved to anyone else.

I see you have low balled a question decrease than what i like to call a trojan question. The question "So, why do atheists save asserting 'there's no God'? Have they regarded everywhere concurrently?" Has no longer something to do with the question ... "it incredibly is far less complicated - to teach lifestyles (of God) or non-lifestyles?" because of the fact which you have already desperate that there is a god. So i'm compelled to answer the latter and forget with regards to the former. the respond is that individuals and the earth are far far older than the previous covenant that alter into first made with god. This leaves many questions as to why in simple terms presently (I mean in compariasn to the full outlook of history) does god settle directly to make a relationship with human beings after see you later after our advent. That and distinctive of religion forget with regards to the truths of technology even while its accessible to reconcile particular bible events with history. Then theres the quite untastefull adittudes of a few belivers all mutually. i will see why some atheists might quite have confidence in different gods. as much as now as beliving in something without adventure. properly, adventure isn't the only foundation of understanding. We study issues time-honored without adventure. you recognize which you would be able to no longer in simple terms fly a plane in to area, or dive all the way down to the mile depts of the sea, or survive a gunshot element sparkling to the pinnacle, or make a working leap off a construction directly to a different like we see contained in the matrix. i'm valuable you haven't any longer tried those issues or have you ever seen somebody fail at those feats. Like sensible the bible additionally understanding that we won't be able to adventure. Its in simple terms a be counted of what your keen to have confidence. One final occasion, I created a perpetual gadget utilizing wood, water, 10 hollow balls, glue, and plexy glass. have confidence????

you have not read your bible have you?
Jesus Christ is the "Only" Diety that Can be proven as having existed and is real.
allah? was a deciple of God?
he is in his grave.
buhdah? also in his grave, nothing was written about him until 500 years after his death.
mary? she was the vessel by which Christ was delivered to this earth (virgin birth.)
all of the places mentioned in the bible are real, they are documented and verified.
the tomb in which Jesus was put (Praise God :-) ) is Empty.
my best way to get you to understand is to say, that i know you have a decerning mind and concience.
give the bible a try, you've often said that "you'd try anything once"
well, try God, read your bible and "find out" for yourself my friend.
read what the book of revelation says about the coming of the ages.
look at the world around us, compare them to what the prophets, and God and Jesus said 2000 years ago.
be honest and tell me how many other gods or whatever you would like to call them have said about current events and situations.
and only one will prove 100% true (the Holy Bible.)
as an added task, research the middle east and find out what the different cities and towns were named in ancient times.
you'll be shocked that they were the very same names mentioned in the Bible.
the more you truely search out the truth, the more you will find God.
the more you will find what satan has been trying for so long to keep from us.
he is a defeated foe, he has nothing to loose from lying to us.
i have nothing to gain from lying to you either.
may God Bless you on your journey into the answers to your own inner questions.
i Pray that you will come to the only possible conclusion.
Jesus Christ is Real, he is there for us, ALL we have to do is call upon his name, and trust in him.
all i ask is that you truely give him a chance, you won't be disappointed.

People who insist that God exists usually do so because they have experienced Him in action. I know I have.

Both sides of the equation have a view that their position is correct and have faith that it is so.

I suggest that you read Pascal's Wager. It gives the best reason for having faith in a God. This makes the most sense to me of any from a moral/ethical rationale that I have run across.
