I got 3 misdemeanors on my record for 2 incedents of "wife beating" domestic battery, even though it was me throwing her ipod against the wall--apparently that's arrestable criteria.

Can I still become an M.D.

I know the answer is yes, but I have no source, and I know nothing about the law.

Hrmm. I don't know much about the regulations on these types of things, but I think it'd be hard for you to get a working practice license (but I'm pretty sure you still could become a M.D.)

Good luck!

The anwser would be no as the State would not want to license you due to ethics violations and no malpractice insurance company would want to insure you.

If you want to become an M.D. you need to hire a lawyer to see if any or all of the charges could be expunged.

If you were convicted of wife beating, that means they some type of proof that you indeed beat your wife. Instead of trying to explain away or water down your convictions, and trying to become a doctor, it would be advisable to look deeper into yourself and fix yourself first before adding a career field that patience is absolutely required.

Just about every job these days, do full background checks. I was in the medical field, had a felony on my record from something a very long time ago, and can't get employed in that field anymore. I would check into it, if I were you.
