Routines are a good thing !!!
We must however allow for changes when things beyond our control come up, or simple to break the monotony.
For instance, my hubby of 54 yrs. is a retired military man and he formed some good habits. He never leaves the bedroom without making the bed. That is a neat routine.
I on the other hand like to rearrange furniture, and bless his heart, he said he is so happy that I can't move the toilets.LOL
I always feel good when I break the routine of the same furniture arrangement. I do keep lists, so as not to stand around wondering, "What's Next"~~~Good question !!!~~

Routines work here, but are broken once in a while. Some times it is worth breaking a routine to do something different and fun.

I think a person needs to be able to just take things as they come. Some people get so caught up in their routines that the routine seems to control them instead of them controlling it. My ex-husband couldn't even wake up ten or fifteen minutes late without it ruining his whole day because it screwed up his routine. I am thankful that I am not like that.

I totally agree- except for the mornings.
I need to keep my routine for when I am brain-dead and it is too early to think. I just go with my regular habits until I can wake up all the way.

My whole day, sometimes the whole week will go out of balance for me without my routine. I plan every minute of my day. Don't get me wrong, I prefer chaos to order, but it isn't practical right now.

For people like myself I must have a routine to get so many things done! I am a type A personality! My miind is so busy that I would never get anything done if it weren't scheduled!
