Well it all depends on the stats of your pc, what you use it for, and whether you are just a show off

Personally I would have an apple mac OS, or Lynux, but if you really want Microsoft go with XP as it is more secure than vista at the moment, and as I said can your pc handle VIsta?

if yes then try Vista, but you will be waisting a lot of money, why don't you just wait for the prices to come down and the problems to be fixed :-)

well its your decision now

hope that helps

if you're buying one that has vista already on it you'll be fine because I don't know if you can find one with XP anymore a lot of people don't think vista is good because they're doing an upgrade and a lot of compatibility issues are there something that Microsoft doesn't seem to care to much about but when XP first came out it was the same thing.

Firstly, pleaseeeeee make sure you read what you have written before you submit it!

Do not get vista. It still has lots of bugs, security holes, and incompatible hardware. You would be better off getting XP for now.
Those in the know won't get vista for another 2 or 3 years. By then HOPEFULLY microsoft will have sorted all the major problems they should have done before releasing it!

For now I would suggest going with XP, Vista still has a lot of compatability problems, or buy the Vista comp, and then save the recovery disks and go buy XP to use for now

Windows XP would be a better bet right now. Give Vista a year or two to settle down.

Get XP. Windows Vista is not supported by many programs yet.
