I belive my dad just paid $2000 as a retainer for his commercial real estate lawyer. It may vary from lawyer to lawyer

As someone said, it depends on the area. It also depends on the attorney. In NJ the legal fee for a residential real estate closing can range from $500 to $1500. Call around and ask.

It depends on where the property is located, and the customs of the area (which determine what they are responsible for).
You could call and talk to a few of them to get an idea of the costs and services involved.
