It really all depends on what culture you come from. Nowadays it is seen as unmoral in Western nations because it is degrading to females. In my view, they can make all the porn the want as long as its consensual. In ancient cultures porn was common, in some cases religious (did you read the Da Vinci Code?) and was seen as the perfect unity between man and woman.

Morality is a religious issue. Moral codes derive from social, cultural and (primarily) religious definitions of what is and is not acceptable.
Many religions have strict rules regarding sexuality, including both practice and expression (speech). So, actions and portrayals which violate those religious and social restrictions are seen as immoral. And religions are fully within their rights to tell their members that something is immoral.
That doesn't give one religion the right to impose its views on anyone else as a matter of law. And that's why pornography is legally protected -- laws are based on secular reasons, not religious morality (at least, mostly, in the US).

Not everyone sees it as unmoral.
I think it is though. I am not happy for my partner to watch a pornographic video or TV show. If he was watching people have sex in the same room as him, people would consider it as being unfaithful, so how is watching two people do it on a screen any different?
Society has taught us to believe that porn is sexy, but it's not, and the people who participate in it need some self respect.

Pornography, particularly pornography depicting children, bestiality, rape, and degradation of women is most often viewed as immoral by logical rational people like myself. The intent of the representation is what is most offensive. ADULT pornography that is kept private and away from public view in my view is permissible and even appropriate between married and/or consenting ADULTS only. Anything that promotes harm to women and children is about as low as it can get and is not art, nor an expression that needs to be free. That's my two-cents worth!

Because it used to be a case of those involved being victims.
Its the older religious generation in charge of the country that is saying its immoral, not the younger generation.
As long as there are no victims, then it cannot be immoral. Thats what I think anyway.

Hello,
(ANS) Any form of pornography is seen as immoral because its a form of exploitation of either male or femal. Pornography dehumanizes a person down to a sexual object, for the voyouristic gratification of someone else.
**In pornography, the user or view has no contact with the real person behined the image, the image gives no sense of the real persons feelings, he or she has no tangible personality, we have no idea what he or she likes or dislikes. Pornography allows the user to project there own desires onto this empty image.
Pornography in my opinion has little or nothing to do with sex actually, confusing as this sounds. Pornography is about power, control, and making money. These are all factors in the same process of exploitation.
**The men or women who take part in the creation of pornogrpahy are allowing themselves to be exploited usually for the money, or to pay for other forms of addication such as drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc.

I think some people are too prudish and stuck up. Obviously we need to keep things away from kids, but why do some adults get so offended by sex? I love watching porn, and it's even better watching with a man!

It is deemed to be immoral as it is demeaning to women, and consent is questionable (financial duress etc).
I have a female friend who works in the porn industry, and she enjoys both the work and the money (she is also a law graduate), so I'm unsure as to my opinion on it
