I have heard so many people say you need to be a virgin to get the injection, YOU DO NOT have to be one. Anyone from the age of 9 to 24 can get the series. The injection site pain is worth the end results, While this series of injections only immunizes you against, at least, 17 different strands of the virus, it is totally worth the cost. Within the next few years we hope that they will improve the number of strains . I work with a very respected GYN surgeon who has 2 daughters, she has given them both the series of injections. We give approximately 20 HPV injections a day, they are expensive, but, if I had daughters I would have given them the series. Do research, see if this is the right thing for you. Go to the web site, ask your GYN or GP if this is a good idea for your daughter. Always make informed decisions,,always ask questions of your health care provider,,,,the more we know, the better we are able to make the right choice.

that's not a cervical maximum cancers immunization - that's an immunization for HPV which each and every so often ends up in maximum cancers - yet like 60% of cervical maximum cancers isn't led to by this. besides, attempt to ask your physician instead of getting into the process the school. it incredibly is basically the age they're giving them to make confident all the ladies coming up can get them. that's approved for all females an prolonged time 10 - 25, so which you would be able to get one nevertheless.

Well, see...its like this. First of all, the vaccine isn't for cervical cancer. Gardisil is a vaccination that prevents many forms of Human Papillomavirus (HPV), which is the leading cause of cervical cancer among young women. However, guarding against the STD is no guarantee that your daughter won't get cervical cancer along the way. Many women get cervical cancer and don't have HPV. However, having your daughter immunized against HPV is a very large step to hopefully preventing cervical cancer AND helping to guard her against an incurable STD.

No, I've never had the shot because I'm outside of the age group that it was studied in and I have other health issues that make it so that I'm very limited to what kind of vaccines I can have.

Some side effects I've heard about with the shot from talking to others who have had it is pain at the injection site, redness, a mild fever.

The new hpv shot Gardasil, has already killed three young women. And done serious harm to others.

Why risk it?

You have to be younger than 14 (or just starting puberty) and you have to have never had sex before
