Sometimes you can get menstrual cramps around the vagina area.

Nope. On your period. Probably a UTI. Some girls get it when they have their period. I get some of the same things when I'm on my period. Could also be that you're ovulating. Your ovaries are working themselves hard. Try asprin or Advil or Midol to get rid of those weird period cramps, exercise, or a nice hot bath.
If you feel any burning or feel like you need to go NOW when you pee, then do the following to get rid of that nasty bladder infection WITHOUT antibiotics. The herbal way! And, guess what, antibiotics takes 7 days to get rid of it, but the herbal way takes only about 5! Depending on the severity of your case, anyway:
First Day:
Trader Joe's 100% Cranberry Juice (No concentrates!). Drink at room temperature and down that whole big bottle within an hour.
Second until fifth day:
Cranberry pills and oil of oregano (also can come in pill form). Take oil of oregano three times a day. The Cranberry pills twice a day. Spread out the doses. If you get too much at one time your body will just throw it out.
Keep doing this routine (but that bottle of cranberry juice only needs to happen on the first day) until you feel no more symptoms.
And yes, it could be an STD, but then it is probably vaginal. Yeast infections are frequent with periods, but it could also be Trichonomis (dangerous to reproductive organs but RARE. You have to have sex to get it) or Pelvic Inflammatory Disorder (STD And RARE).
I hope that helps!

It sounds like there could be an infection going on at the same time. I would recommend getting in touch with your doctor to have them evaluate the situation further.

it sounds like infection to me sweetheart - take yourself off to your doctor and get checked over.

if left untreated, some infections can make you infertile.

Good luck!
