I know this topic is not an easy one but sometimes it rears its little head in my life with ppl around me...

I 100% believe abortion is wrong. The way i figure it is that woman doesnt want a baby because maybe it is an inconvienence due to her lack of protecting herself or what evever the case may be and she wants an easy way out, now what if instead of a baby she would have gotten AIDS instead how would she get rid of that. Im sure that would be an inconvienence also! I have had 4 miscarriages(with babies i wanted tho 2 plus my living son weren't planned) and when ppl tell me there abortion stories and brag about them i feel sick to my stomach.

I knew a girl that had a "partial birth" abortion at 7 months and talked about in in details and had no regret except that fact she almost died. She cared about herself dying but not that baby that she KILLED i mean thats a bit selfish. Who's to say her life is worth having and the babies is not.

I am not saying BAN abortion because trhere are reasons like rape and incest..I dont agree with it as a "just cause" attempt of solving a problem...If that's the case Debt should be aborted because it puts a strain on life but i dont see that law passing anytime soon.

Wow, I wish I could be as perfect as you so I too could have led a mistake free life. And I wish I could be as smart as you so I too could have all the answers and be able to solve all moral dilemmas and tell people what they should do with their lives.

The saddest thing in this world isn't debt or abortion...it is how people feel they have the need and right to judge people when they have never walked in their shoes...

Having strong beliefs and sticking by them is great, but don't impede on other people's right to have their own opinions and live their own lives.

Since you have never had an abortion you have no idea what it is like. It is not just an 'easy way out.' It is one of the hardest decisions and ordeals any women will have to go through. I can guarentee that whatever your friend has told you about how she feels about her abortion, it is not the whole story. I had an abortion and I never opened up about it to anyone. I talk about it, sure...but no one knows all of my feelings about it. A lot of times women disconnect from how they really feel as a defense mechanism. Bottom line...you don't know what's really going on, so don't act like you do.

You are hiding behind the two biggest generalizations about abortions and it weakens your argument. First of all not all unplanned pregnancies come from people not using protection. Protection fails. A second of all abortion doctors are only in it for the money?? I'm sure some of them are, as there are some people in the world that will do anything for money and can probably be found in any craft where they can get paid. But a lot of people don't believe a fetus is a baby. They believe this just as strongly as you believe it is. So while you may disagree with what they are doing, they are doing it with nothing but good intentions.

Because many people have to live with and ultimately die from AIDS people should have to keep their unwanted babies as well? This is hardly even worth getting into. There is a 'cure' for unplanned pregnancies though, and if there was a cure for AIDS you can bet we would be using it too.

People who have abortions don't just do it for selfish reasons, they are thinking of the baby as well. They don't want to bring a baby into the world that they will not be able to take care of and they don't just want to throw it into the system and hope things turn out ok when they often don't (and please don't simply throw back...so murder is better? Remember - they don't see it as murder).

People shouldn't have sex unless they are ready to have a baby? What about people that never want babies? The idea that everyone will eventually get married and have kids is outdated...everyone has the choice. You can't tell people that they can't have sex if they don't want kids because then you are getting into the whole "god intended sex for reproduction" which amounts to forcing your religious beliefs on other people. And women who have sex and don't want kids shouldn't be forced to have adoptions because we are not incubators and should not have our rights impeded on simply because we were born with a uterus.

And for the record I don't get how you can be 100% against abortion...unless its incest or rape. If you think abortion is murder, why is a baby that was a product of a rape or incest worth any less? You have compassion for women that were raped...I have compassion for any women facing an unplanned pregnancy that they are not ready for and did not want because no matter what they chose (abortion, adoption, or having the baby) their life will never be the same.

I hope that someday you will be able to let go of all this anger and be able to hold your own strong beliefs while allowing and respecting other people to have theirs.

I agree. Abortion is wrong. It kills children and hurts many women.

Although they make for a good distraction from 98.5% of abortion, rape and incest only account for less than 2% of all abortions. Still, I don't think that children should be punished for their fathers crimes. All life is precious. If the mother can't or doesn't want to raise the child, he or she could be put up for adoption. The adoptive parents and the child need never know the circumstances of the child's conception.

There are thousands of free crisis pregnancy centers across the country to help pregnant women. These centers provide pregnancy tests, diapers, food, clothing, counseling, health care referrals, even ultrasounds, shelter, and money. These centers provide counseling both before and after abortions--which is more than most abortion clinics do--and they get paid. Check out
http://www.nationallifecenter.com/.

Adoption is a great option. There are over 2 million couples looking to adopt. They typically have to wait several years to finally get a child. That's part of the reason that so many go overseas to adopt--it's faster. These parents are often willing to help birth mothers. Why should a poor woman pay for an abortion when adoptive parents are willing to help her financially? I'm sure that part of the reason is that many women don't know. And, of course, "Planned Parenthood" isn't going to tell them.

"Planned Parenthood" makes far too much money performing 260,000+ abortions a year to recommend adoption. On a further side note, "Planned Parenthood" of Missouri is crying because they're going to have to meet the same standards that other medical facilities in the state have to meet.

With numerous government programs, charities, and crisis pregnancy centers, there's just no excuse for the 1.3 million abortions which occur every year in America.

I believe that every woman should have the choice . I believe that every woman is free to do whatever she wants with her own body. However, I am against abortions performed during 2nd or 3rd trimester. Abortion in early stages of pregnancy should be legalized but not later than that because the fetus is almost completely formed. Abortion in early stages of pregnancy should be legalized no matter what the circumstances are as long as the woman feels that she cannot handle it, even if she was legally married. Bringing a life into this world is a huge responsibility .

I am conflicted on it. I am not sure we should legislate it but I don't think we should fund it.

The Morning after pill should have removed the discussion from the table i thought, However it didn't for some reason.

I do Agree that there is no excuse for waiting 6 to 9 months to abort. That is simply laziness and at that point the "Fetus" is a viable child that can live outside the womb. If you consider that it is murder and if you read on partial birth procedure it is actually murder before birth so they can bypass those silly murder laws.

If someone isn't born you cannot kill them is the rationallization.

So in your opinion if a 15 year old is raped and gets pregnant she should have the child? Lovely view point my dear. What happens if the baby is to be born with a disability? Should that foetus drain the family funds for the rest of it's natural life despite the fact that the parents wanted a termination?

What kind of doctor performs an abortion at 9 months? That is equivalent to a child being killed. I don't think you'd find many doctors willing to do that not to mention the decision to abort would have been made a lot earlier. Link please.

I am curious to know. If you were pregnant and your doctor told you that your child had a 15% chance of survival and that even if it lived it would lead a poor life, with need for constant care, never being able to fully fend for itself, being in pain, with possible need for transplants would you still go ahead with the birth? Wouldn't it be kinder to terminate?

Yes I understand that you had 4 miscarriages. I also understand that as a result you hold life very precious because of the trauma you went through and the viewpoints of others around you. Try to understand that abortion isn't always as black as you think it is.

I am not an advocate, and i am disturbed how it is done with little disregard and trivialized as a form of birth control.I don't believe it is a womans choice either.there is a father also, what of his choice. Why does he have no choice but is legally bound to pay child support when a child is brought into the world.
This all stems from the sexual revolution and women's empowerment. With power comes responsibility.it isn't difficult to prevent pregnancy so why is it such an epidemic. Why is promiscuity allowed among men and frowned on against women.men should be held to a higher standard also.It is of more import to the woman though because she is the one with the responsibility of carrying a child.Women can't lower themselves to the level of doggish men and expect to not have repercussions.Ending abortion starts with acting responsibly

im sorry but abortion is anything but an easy way out. do you honestly think a woman skips merrily to the clinic? and no one brags about an abortion. no one sane that is. and as for the girl, do you know the circumstances of why she aborted? perhaps the fetus was fatally ill and she had no choice. ever think of that? no doctor will perform an elective late term abortion. also i would like to add that consent to sex is not consent to pregnancy.

I generally support an abortion up to the point at which cell differentiation begins, but you're right about partial birth. How can anyone hold a newborn child in their arms as they take their first breaths and honestly believe that as long as that child's head was still inside the mother, killing it would have been acceptable?

The world is overpopulated, I don't think abortion is great, but who am I to say what other people do with their bodies. It is not a political issues or a moral one it's a personal one and it should be an option because women are just going to have abortions any ways but illegal dangerous ones.

Plus what about rape, what about the condom breaking is that her mistake?

I guess you practice abstinence then. I think you're just one of those frigid biotches who's just jealous that they can't conceive, adopt one of the millions of starving children! But no you're too selfish, you don't care about them, you'll only love a baby that has your genes

Whether or not abortion is murder is for the most part, opinion.

My view, it's not murder if the fetus cannot survive outside the womb. (Earliest preemie that survived, born 4 months premature.)

EDIT: I certainly hope you aren't stooping to name-calling, BTW how many ppl actually have abortions @ 9 months?
