It's a spaghetti tree! Okay, I'm joking, spaghetti doesn't grow on trees, they grow underground, but that's another issue.
It's a cedar tree (Arz)!
Cedar is the national symbol of the Lebanese Republic.
The Lebanese Anthem mentions the cedar "Its pride is in its cedar - Its symbol for immortality" i.e Lebanon's pride is in its cedars which is also the symbol for Lebanon's immortality.
Cedars are also an inspiration for many Lebanese poets, and they are very much often mentioned in poetry and marked with the traits of happiness & mightiness
It is the most impressive tree mentioned in the Bible. The usual Hebrew word for cedar, erez, is of mysterious origin, derived most likely from some Arabic dialect. It probably means "Mighty," & used with this meaning at Ezek 27:24.
In addition, cedar trees are singled out from all of the other trees mentioned in the Torah and called the "trees of the Lord" (Psalm 104:16).
Hope that helps.

I am sorry, I think all the answers that were submitted are wrong. The Green Cedar of lebanon was depicted on the flag in the 18th century by the Maronite Christians. It was only a white flag with the green cedar tree on it. At that time, Cedar trees were not endangered . The green cedar was depicted in reference to the Bible: Psalms 92:12, "the righteous flourish like the palm tree, and grow like a cedar in Lebanon").
White symbolizes peace and purity of the snow covering Lebanese mountains and the two red stripes , which were later added in 1926, symbolize the blood of the martyrs who died to free Lebanon from colonization.
This type of Green Cedar is only found in Lebanon, that why its so significant . That's why it symbolizes Lebanon. I hope that all the Lebanese find peace and appreciate the uniqueness and value of their country enough to put their differences aside.

Cedars Walawwww
it is rare you can find this kind only in lebanon, it is so old
Lebanon cedars grow at elevations of 4,264-6,888 ft. (1300 &endash;2100 m). They grow best in deep soil on slopes facing the sea. The trees require a lot of light and about 40 inches (1000 mm) of rain a year. They form open forests with a low undergrowth of grasses.
The first thing you notice about the Lebanon cedar is the large wide-spreading horizontal branches. The top of the tree is broad and flattened in a mature tree. In dense stands of trees they grow straight and narrow, but when standing alone, its lower branches spread out horizontally over a large area and rest on the ground. The cedars can grow 80 feet (20 m) tall and spread out from 30-50 feet (9-15 m). They grow very slowly. The oldest tree is more than 1000 years old.
you can see it on my blog

It's a cedar tree.
Lebanon’s forests of cedar trees were famed in antiquity, but intensive logging over the centuries has reduced the forests to a fraction of their former size. Hailed in the Bible and other works of ancient literature, the cedars of Lebanon remain a point of national pride—a cedar appears prominently on the national flag. The slopes of the Lebanon Mountains now carry widespread Mediterranean brush vegetation, as well as scattered patches of stone pine, Aleppo pine, and ornamental cypress. Colorful spring wildflowers are abundant. During migration season, thousands of birds pass through the Bekáa. Few other wild animals are left in Lebanon.
