To thine own self be true!
I apply this to my life in the simple fact that I don't lie to myself about situations. For example, I know my husbands family (most of them) don't care for me. I don't pretend that they do and go out of my way to try to make them like me.
I also insist on being myself, in every situation. I'm not going to be something I'm not for anyone!
One of my favorite Reba MacIntire songs has that phrase in it. "Fancy"

It sort of applies itself, in my case.
Any time I try to stand tall and walk as an arrow,
I trip or lose my balance.
When I'm more "myself," and remain good-natured
and playful, things coast.
Ever notice how we perform better when we're
at ease within ourselves and not trying to appease
the miserable demanding types?
They're gonna be that way anyway.
Evade them at all costs, and everybody's happier.
Except, wherever they are, still miserable etc.
Right?

I don't as much as I should but lately it's been in the form of standing up for what I think is right, even if that means pissing off someone I'm close to.

I just be myself. I dont wear makeup and I make absoltely no effort to hide who I am. If people dont like that, its their problem, not mine.
