By upgrading, do you mean upgrading memory, windows version or what? If so, and you had Excel before, there is no reason why you haven't got it now. If, however, you mean you've bought a new computer, then probably it isnt pre-loaded because mostly you get Works and, if you're lucky, as you seem to be Word. If this is the case, your cheapest option is to buy Student Version of Office which includes Excel at around £99.

Not really. You can download an Excel VIEWER that will allow you to read any excel file but with no modification or creation possible. You would need to find the original Office CD or somehow acquire a new Office CD.

Not safely and legally, if you're looking for a free download. I'd download Open Office, which is an office suite virtually identical to MS Office and compatible with it. Includes a spreadsheet which is to all intents and purposes the same as Excel. And it's free and legal.

not legally, no. You would have to purchase either microsot office, or just ms excel.
You should check and see if you have ur original install discs though, as they should still work, and also, check your microsoft office folder in the program files directory of your C:, or primary hard drive... Excel might still be there, and maybe just the shortcut was removed.
