is it illegal to allow employees at a movie theatre to watch movies after closing time?

Well technically it is illegal since the theaters lose money when the folks dont buy tickets. But I dont think they really care about the theater employees watching movies, its almost assumed that it'll be part of the job/ included in the perks.

No, if they are legally in possession of the film and have legal access to the theater.

I don't see how it can be illegal unless the MPAA will claim it steals box office results.
