ok, i HAVE seen a lot of girls wearing "stripper heels" around this summer for some reason and my niece who is 15 and visting me for a few weeks just bought a pair and is wearing them. i don't want to be a buzzkill, but i'm not sure how i feel about her wearing these shoes when we go to lunch / shopping. is this a style that is "ok" now?

If she wears them with jeans, and only to enhance her height and style [not her sex appeal], then let 'er rip. However, she shouldn't be wearing heels to go shopping, talk about blisters! Lunch should be okay, though.

hmm well just cause a bunch of other girls are doing it doesn't mean she should jump in. She's 15 she's still a little girl. And the way you dress at that age can get you good attention or really bad attention. She can still wear nice shoes and look cute without looking like she wants trouble.....

"stripper heels" meaning stilettos? aka heels of hell that are 4 inches or higher? if she can walk in those, than wow, thats some talent. talk to her about how you feel. then you dont have to worry as much and can say you tried. but dont use the term stipper heels unless she does. ask her why she wears them and explain to her why you dont like her wearing them. in the end, you will both understand eachother much more.

I agree with you on this. Too many young girls get caught up with wearing adult clothing. I think that this day in age that we need to step up and talk with our kids and teach them that some things are not proper to wear until they are older. I do know what you are talking about(the shoes). That is what I call them too. Talk with her and tell her how you feel about the shoes. Tell her what some people think about those type of shoes. Then ask her to wear something else when she goes out with you.

heels are in style..but stripper heels are never in style --for a 15 yr.old--unless its halloween...buy the kid a nice pair of pumps and send her on her way

It's ok if it looks trendy and it is worn with jeans. Compliment them. But if she wears them with shorts and mini skirts, tell her arent you young to be wearing those aas a joke. maybe shell understand as not a joke. haha.

I let things like that go with my nieces. I wouldn't let it go if one of them wore soemthing that showed too much skin but I let the shoes go. I figure if their parents don't like it, the shoes will be gone after they get home.

if she's wearing that now the clothing will only be worse when shes older, you might want to keep a close eye on that. you wouldn't want your neice to be a whore

as long as she isn't pairing them with a miniskirt or bootie shorts...then she has too much sex appeal and will attrack the wrong kind of guys. you ought to talk to her about them, they might not be as bad as they seem.
