Groin for the string but Grafenberg for the spot (the german who discovered it)

The G-spot may seem like a magical, mythical pleasure zone. In reality, it is a small area on the front wall of the vagina between the cervix and vaginal opening. The “G” honors Ernst Grafenberg, a German physician who wrote an article in the 1950s about “an erotic zone that would swell during sexual stimulation.

And the G in g-string seems to come from the fact that it only holds the "genitals" and not the surrounding area.

The Gräfenberg Spot or G Spot is named after the doctor who first noted it’s sensitivity, Dr. Ernst Gräfenberg. Its a spot that when stimulated can cause a woman to orgasm and sometimes ejaculate. May be in guys too.

The G String is widely believed to be derived from the word geestring, a piece of rope used by Native Americans (yep, them injuns!) to hold up their loincloths. Some people also believe that the G means groin, therefore it’s a groin string but that really makes no sense unless you wear it the wrong way

in g-spot it stands for The Gräfenberg spot
Gräfenberg is the gynocologist that first thought the spot existed

in terms of g-string... it's iffy where it came from... some say it's like that of the g-string on an instrument..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-string
