High School..??

Question

Okay Im going into my freshman year and to tell oyu to truth I hate the idea. What is highschool like??? any advice??

Ok, I know this is kind of lame, but I just answered a question similar to this, so I'm just going to copy and paste the answer. There's probably other things I could tell you, but I feel this is the most important advice I can give:

I remember being kind of nervous when I was going into high school, but it's no sweat. One thing I would recommend is to get involved in something. Clubs, activities, sports, etc. Whatever interests you, find a group where you can mingle with people with similar interests. If it's a good club, you'll find that these friends will become like a close-knit family throughout the years. I was in marching band all four years of high school, and while I wasn't very good at my instrument, it was definitely worth it for all the lifelong friends I made and still keep in touch with today.

Stay on top of your classes, and realize that with each test you take, you're working towards your dream college (assuming that's your next step). Freshman year is your most important as it will determine whether you'll have some cushion to work with the rest of high school or whether you'll be playing "catch up" with your GPA. But most of all, seize the day. You're only in high school once, so be spontaneous, and have fun with it.

high school is so scary at first going in to a new place w/ kids some times 4 years older...but once you get used to the idea its the best time of your life some time i wish i could go back there i do miss my friends alot!
As a freshman just try to stay out of everyones way don't start problems but don't be walked all over either...you will make alot of new friends and lost alot of friends remember life goes on boys/drinkin/parties/ aren't everything...keep your grades up i wish i would have done that more cuz college classes can be alot of money vs. taking a class and doing well in it in high school
you will have a great time everyone says those are the best years of your life

I'm in the same position as you right now. gonna be a freshman next year too. anyways, the only advice i would give you is just be yourself and have people like you for who you are. this is a whole new place. it's our time to shine and be whoever we want to be. just stay outta things like drugs and stuff and focus on your grades. and maybe go out for a club or some sports teams and etc. i know it can seem scary at times, but just try not to look at it that way. try to look at it as a new challenge, adventure, or level in your life. and tr to take this adventure on full speed and make it one worth while. one you'll remember for the rest of your life. just have fun. i don't know what high school is like yet, but from what i've hear, expect ALOT more drama. lol. have fun and good luck to the both of us!!

Its just like middle school except you are not the oldest anymore. In my school the older grades just ignore you for a while then you become friends with them. My best advice is when you get your class schedule, find out and remember what path you will take to get there. That was my biggest thing. I could not for the life of me find my classes. (I am not a complete idiot I just have a really big school) Just remember that every other freshman is in your place too.

im going in to highschool this year too..

my tips would be to enroll in some kind of sport that goes on during the summer (at your school) or summer school so you get t noe some people before the FIRST DAYY!!

i am on the cheerleading squad..and i already made sooo many new friends..

Im a freshman too. Its great I got like 34 friends in one day which was my first day. People everywhere like me .

P.S. Dont get into drugs or have sex that may cause HIV or other diseases

high school is really fun. im gonna be in 11th grade and my first 2 years were amazing. junior is gonna be totally different though. enjoy your first 2 years while you can =]

omg i totally know exactly how you feel because i'm in the exact same situation. what i do is look at my school's website just to familiarize myself with it. i also emailed my counselor and just asked her a few questions.
