i have a factory security system in my 2002 ranger and last night someone broke into my pick up using a slim jim.. and for some reason my alalrm never sounded... why and what are they sopose to go off.. like what has to happian to trigger them to go off.... or is mine broken.

It could be that your system will shut down the engine if someone tries to steal it.

For better security, have a seperate alarm system installed. Mine has a feature that will buzz my remote and let me know someone is trying to break in to the truck.

A professional burglar will be very familiar with the setup of a factory system and can deactivate it easily. What you need is one of those car alarms that will go off at random periods throughout the day or is activated through motion detection. These are designed to annoy the burglars and make them go away.

are u sure its an alarm?? some cars that say have a security system, doesnt neccesarilly mean an alarm...
