Okay, I have a big problem!
One of my favorite white shirts I ruined by washing it with color! :( The shirt has green lettering on it so I'm scared to throw it in bleach and the part that has ink on it is on the side that is blank. Does anyone have a way to re-whiten the shirt without ruining the lettering?
I'd perfer answer that have been tried because this shirt really means a lot to me!!

Please help!!!
thanks

Yes, You can purchase Rit Color remover in your grocery store right next to the Rit Dye. You will find it in the laundry area. It is made specifically for your situation.

It is not bleach, so it will not ruin the lettering on your shirt. It will only remove the unwanted color.

I wash all of my husband's white t-shirts in hot water with detergent and the appropriate amount of bleach as stated on the bleach container. This includes all of his t-shirts whether they have colored letters, pictures, or not. Over time, the letters and pictures fade a little but they're never just bleached out. This is for 100% cotton white t-shirts......not sure what kind of white shirt you're having the problem with?? That said, if you're too scared to try bleach, get some Spray 'n Wash or other pre-wash spray, spray the stained part really good, let it sit for 5-10 minutes then wash the shirt in HOT water with regular detergent. Please note that a good name brand powdered detergent is waaaaaaaaaaay better than liquid. Don't get the cheap kind at Big Lots. Tide, Arm & Hammer, etc., are really good. I have never used the RIT color remover. It might be worth a try. Hydrogen peroxide is also very good for removing certain stains from white fabric. Some stains it works on (usually organic stains), some it doesn't. If you want to try it, put the HP in a spray bottle and saturate the stained part really good. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Come back and check it. If the stain seems to be fading, apply more HP and let sit as long as it takes for the fabric to turn white again. Good luck!

This will take time. Buy the bleach pen, Take the shirt over to the kitchen sink , Apply the bleach pen to a little of the stain, wait a few seconds, and run the cold water on it , now do another part and do the same thing until all the color is gone from the white part. then wash as usual. If the letters are too close to the stain place masking tape over them.

You can trying using a bleach pen ( Clorox) that you can add bleach to specific spots. Rub the area after applying the bleach, then let it soak in cold water once the stain seems to be resolved. Then rinse with fresh, cold water. Place the shirts in the washer, on gentle cycle to rid the article of any residue. You can then bring the shirt to the Dry Cleaners' or wash it in the usual manner. I hope that this helps.

Get a Spray-n-Wash type of spray and spray it. Then wash it regular wash a (with a load of other whites). Repeat this as necessary. After a few washes it should fade to nothing. It has worked well for me even on kakhi pants that were stained the same way.

Tough one - this may require some of your time.
You can't bleach it or you'll lose your green - there is a product that removes bled colors from your clothes - check it out in the store where you find RIT dyes - they have jean faders, color strippers and bleeding correctors - read the box and it'll tell you what your restrictions are.
Otherwise, check with a dry cleaner and ask them what their solution would be.

They sell a clorax spray, so you can use that to spray on the side that has the stain let it sit for a while, then give it a little hand wash after that you can put it in the washer to wash.

Maybe a low concentration of bleach?

I use Borax powder on my white clothes, because using bleach on anything but my husband's cotton underwear bothers me. I've had white antron panties turn dirty-looking from using bleach on the wrong fabric.

Try Biz it's bit more expensive but it has worked every time.
just soak the shirt in a solution of biz overnight. you might have to repeat one more time until all the new color is removed.
