probably all women enjoy the social aspect of using their brain, having conversations, earning a paycheck, having a lunch hour etc BUT many of us choose to hang out with the short people at home because we think its better for them and we are able too. So I don't think there is a correct answer to your question- mopping, laundry and diapers don't qualify as stimulating activities

Depends on the woman, and often the circumstances currently in her life. I did not work for the first 13 years of my marriage. I have worked now for the past 13 years. I never was bored when I didn't work, and enjoyed not having the pressure of a job. Now I have a high stress job that requires lots of hours at the office and at home (I'm working now in between answers, and it is 10:30pm here). I don't like being gone so much from home (and my husband hates it), but I do like having my job. It has given me self esteem, self confidence, and great salary, get to travel, etc. So now I can't imagine not working, but some days it sure sounds nice!

I stayed home till my kids were grown and gone. Then went to work because I needed something to do.
If a woman has an interesting job that she really likes, I suppose she will like working. But, if she is doing a drudge job because she just needs the money, I'll bet she would rather stay home.

I like staying home, which I am currently doing... stay at home mom. But, I miss work. I feel the need to get back out into the world, so I am not stuck inside all day. But, then I dont want to miss my daughter growing up.

I like both. When I was working, I loved the sense of accomplishment and honestly, I loved the power (I was in a supervisor position). Now that I stay home, I love that it's more laid back and that I have more time to dote on my kids and husband and do all the mommy things, like bake cookies and play in the sandbox.

Both. Sometimes I like to be home to do the mommy/housewife thing because I love to see my husband so proud of me when I have our home running well. Then I get bored and feel like my life is passing me by, so then I go get a job which is easy since I work in a hospital and they are always hiring in my profession.

I have been a stay-at-home Mom for 5 years...and I wouldn't have it any other way. I like the feeling of being the one that takes complete care of the people I love...it's awesome.

Mandy3124 is right, it depends on your circumstances. I am separated and a single parent which means i have to work full time to support me and my child as i get no support from elsewhere, i would love to spend more time with my son yet i enjoy my work. i have always worked but some women do prefer to be home keepers.

I have worked most of my life (approx. 21 yrs). I have been staying home with my 7 year old son for the past 9 months. I love the time I get to spend with him. The flip side is......MONEY!!!!! We now have half of our usual income. It was hard at first, but we are getting use to it!
