If the country is focusing on the immigration bill, then they will ignore the fact that May and June had the worst soldier casualties during the occupation/war on Iraq.

I think the story of al qaeda being a growing threat constantly droned into our heads this week right after Bush and cheney have repeatedly said that we are defeating our enemies (al qaeda) and they are getting weaker in strength and numbers is a diversionary issue.

I think imigration is a real issue that the people, no matter if they are conservative or liberal, have real and valid concerns about.

Yea! Government should only have one issue at a time and ignore all the others. Just leave them alone. Nothing bad will happen.

And when you do bring them up, all you get is grief from people who think the world is made out of Lincoln Logs and Legos, simple, linear, and any time something comes up other than the issue THEY are interested in using to push their political agenda that it must be...

No, it is an important issue that matters to all Americans

And besides, gay marriage was an issue created entirely by Democrats.

In February 2004 the Democrat mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsome, issued a directive to the city-county clerk to ignore state laws and issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

The New York Times even blamed Newsome for bringing up the issue, suggesting it was a tactical error for the Democrats:
