This does not look as easy as it appears.
First of all, we must realise what motivates people to say something about others. Persons , known to you, may have reasons for their comments. Friends may want you to be different. relatives and some friends may be just jealous about you. Things like. But , for a stranger , to comment on you , they have absolutely nothing to gain or lose, commenting on you. So ,before brshing aside their commnets ( I would think) , it would be wise to just ponder over and see if , indeed some thought is to be given this remark.
Suppose , for example, you are lavishly spending and living recklessly. It is your money and your life. Still, looking at you they may say that at this age Makeshift should not be expending his energy and should lead a better life. You donot have to take it but you can ponder and see if there is truth in what they say. That is it.

It's a statement about you of some sort. I tip my hat to you for not sharing your life so's to give anonymous strangers a chance to have an opinion about it.

No, but it could mean you don't mean that.Sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me? Don't bet on that.
Words have more power than inanimate objects. They can crush hope, they can kill joy, they can deform the psyche, they can penetrate to the depths of a heart and rip it wide open, leave an emotional wreck on the path of life, and terrorize your mind into stagnation.

No, it doesn't.....but if you're hearing a lot of negative comments, maybe you should take a closer look at your life and see why people say the things they do.

Ummm.....NO! They can give you their opinion and advice but that doesn't mean you have to listen. But take it from someone who knows, hearing someone elses opinion isn't always a bad thing.

Nah! One part of being a well-rounded person is only caring about what those who are close to you think of you.

Are you sure you don't care? If you don't, then why bring it up at all?
