Not death but Life sentence with no parole or early release got my vote.

Rape sentences are too weak (4 or 8 years is a joke for ruining someone life and most rapists get paroled in 2 or 3 years).

Some people think that rape is not such a big deal and that the damage "can be reversed"; obviously they had never been kidnapped, tortured and raped; they had never have had a gun on their head while some (who might be even HIV+) rape them not knowing if rapist will decide to kill them or not.

And of course if the victim is lucky not to get murdered it will come the psychological pain of having to remember how defenseless they felt, plus having to wait 6 or more month to be know for sure if she was infected or not with HIV or any other deadly virus.

Rape is not just forced sex, it's physical and psychological sadistic sexual torture an humiliation.

Why no death sentence? Simply because we cant trust our system; Evidence can be misinterpreted, confessions can be faked, witnesses can be wrong, confused victims mistake their attackers; unless you have a high resolution camera recording a crime there is no way to be absolutely sure about what happened.

Brandon Moon (Innocent), served 17 years for rape (DNA test set him free) http://www.truthinjustice.org/moon.htm

Thomas Doswell (Innocent) served 19 years (prosecutors tried to stop any DNA testing; DNA proved he was not the real rapist)http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05214/547399.stm

Like any crime the punishment should fit the action. Each case should be weighed accordingly. Example a husband and wife are having sex and right in the middle the wife or even husband says to stop and the other one forces onward this is also rape. NO means no.
Somebody raped has their privacy stolen a little child does not deserve this and can and will have life traumas. This person at the least should be locked away for ever or a long life time. Maybe they will have the same thing done to them while there.
Maybe a harder punishment is needed no free ride while in jail. Forced labor chain gang or a whole prison system with the same type of criminals living close together to see what it is like. Leave it up to the victim also to have a fifty fifty say in who gets out and when if ever they are the one that has paid the biggest price and deserves restitution.

properly perhaps no longer the death penalty. i in my view don't think interior the death penalty because of the fact i'm an extremely non secular Christian. there is an extremely stable selection to the death penalty. that's existence in penitentiary without the potential for parole. all people who rapes and hurts an harmless baby merits to be locked up for the remainder of their sorry lives and by no skill see the sunshine of day returned. penitentiary is a terrible place to stay. I even have by no skill been to penitentiary, yet I labored with a guy that did time for killing his daughter's rapist. they could merely lock each pedophile up and throw away the biggest. enable the different inmates look after them, they're going to make a pedophile's stay a residing hell. Making somebody stay in a cage, in a residing hell, for the remainder of their lives is worse punishment than death. in spite of the shown fact that, there is not any justification for homicide. no be counted how ill and demented the crime they dedicated is.

I don't believe that people should be killed for what they've done...but it sure would save those that don't do the crimes a lot of money for not housing them in the prisons. If someone is in prison for rape, chances are that they are going to be killed anyway in a more brutal way than the death penalty.

Yes, preferably just before or during the act, as a natural and completely constitutional self-defense with justified force. That way there is absolutely no confusion as to who the culprit is.

Absolutely.
It might be debated that it may or may not be a deterrent - but it can't be debated that if the sentence is carried out, the dirt bag won't get a chance to rape another.
For what it's worth, I think it would be a deterrent - rapists are driven by control, and the thought of being strapped to a gurney while they get their final shots isn't being in much control.

Possibly, If they show no empathy. If they have multiple victims yes. If they are pedaphiles yes. I say yes to those types because most of them will reoffend if given the opportunity and I don't want to see lives ruined.
