If so how much & why would you want it destroyed? ( I would like to see it destroyed, I think more people would pay to see it destroyed then sold to a collector)

No. It would accomplish nothing and I would be out of some money. Sounds like a crumby deal to me.

Am I the only one here who isn't cold-hearted? I'd give the ball back to Bonds. Nobody outside of San Francisco likes him, but he's done a really good job under the gun this year. He's playing well despite this criticism. Oh, and need I remind everybody that he hasn't tested positive for steroids? Would you accuse somebody like Mo Vaughn (if he were still playing) or David Ortiz, of taking steroids? No. Bonds is only getting all this crap from the media because he's chasing history. Face it, you just hate Bonds because he's going after the All-time HR record and you don't want him to get it. I'm probably the only non-San Franciscan who likes Bonds. And I live near Los Angeles, which is home of the Dodgers, Bonds' team's number-one rival, who really hates him. I really respect Bonds for what he's done for the game and I hope he breaks the all-time record. He truly deserves it, especially since everybody has given him all this crap because they don't want to see Aaron's record get beat. Deal with it!!! Alex Rodriguez is going to break it in the future anyway. It's inevitable. Why give Bonds a hard time when A-Rod is gonna come away with it at the end anyway? He's gonna retire either this year or next year. Let the man go out in a true blaze of glory. And all you people who hate him? You don't really hate him. You all say you would sell the ball for money. Why would you sell the ball if you don't care about the guy who hit it at all? Believe me, you really don't hate him, you just don't want to accept the fact that he's gonna break Aaron's record in the next month, even though A-Rod's gonna break it in 6-8 years. Cut Bonds some slack. I'm not gonna be able to catch the ball, but I wouldn't think twice about giving it back to him.

I would pay all the money in the world to see it destroyed because Barry Bonds destroyed the game of baseball. Other guys (Jason Giambi, Jose Canseco, Mark McGwire, broke the record but then bonds it 73)didnt do anything close to what Bonds is doing now.He doesn't deserve it. He cheated and has ruined the game of baseball. I don't think any collector will want the ball just to observe in a room. I think the only reason people would want it is to sell it or destroy it.

That would be an interesting way to finish something that has had this much debate. As much as I dont wont him to break the record, I think that it is inevitable that he is going to break the record just as it is inevitable that the ball will go in the Hall Of Fame. Unless of course you went into Barry's own house and stole it.

Hasn't "kill the messenger" been abandoned for centuries?

No. I wouldn't pay a counterfeit penny to witness such idiocy. The ball is just an artifact. The event would stand. I wouldn't care if the ball were kept or destroyed, but no way would I pay anything to watch that.

I think it should be sent to the HOF, not to a collector. Its the greatest record in all of sports, and one of the hardest to break. I think I would pay at most nothing to see a piece of history destroyed

The fan who catches the ball should drop it on purpose so the cameras think that he lost the ball somewhere in the seats .. he should then reach down and put it in the bag and pretend that he couldn't find it.. ofcourse itl be hard with everyone jumping in and all the excitement.. But hey.. Bonds doesn't deserve it.

Destroyed... Bonds is breaking a record that he doesn't deserve. Then again, half of players are juiced up and don't deserve a lot. But it makes for great baseball.

i really don't get this i think when someone going to pass Barry Bonds everyone going to love Barry Bonds Just like they love Hank Aaron now is just stupid incredible how Hank was treated now Barry is treating worst for something they never find him guilty of. Look at Roger Clement how in the Heck his still playing like his playing it's natural right. I hope the media would have treat the guy differently but i think everything happen for a reason.

As much as I hate barry bonds, the ball needs to be in the Hall of fame. and if barry wont give it to the hall, then the fan who catches it should hold it hostage.
