Is the safety and well-being of US CITIZENS being overlooked while the politicians pander to the Hispanics for VOTES?

We don't secure our borders or send the illegals home because the Hispanics might get mad...both parties seem to fear this.

I am so sick of the Democrats in Congress I could literally wretch. They are doing nothing, they are trying to sneak amnesty through on the Farm Bill, they lie to us daily.

We are going to have to rid ourselves of Congress in order to save this country.

No--our security is being ignored while the GOP caters to the right-wing bigots.

Here's the situation in a nutshell:

1) For 12 years the GOP controlled Congress--6 with Bush as president. They did nothing about the growing immigration problem, even after 9/11 showed it was also a national security issue.
2) When Bush proposed a conservative immigration reform bill, the right-wing scuttled it.

Now, in 2009, we will get an immigration reform bill--one that will be far more liberal. The cons have no cause for complaint--they've had their chance--and chose to put their racism and bigotry ahead of the welfare of the country.

Politicians are pandering to the big $$$ donors who are profiting off paying substandard wages to illegal workers who work in unsafe and unhealthy workplaces.
In places with names like Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Antonio, Monterey, Paso Robles, and Santa Fe there are Hispanic US CITIZENS who make up a majority and their families have been US CITIZENS longer than many WASPs.

Not only is the safety of our country being put at risk but so is our economy as a hole, thank about it apparently doing construction and working in the fields as well as fast food joints has been deemed work Americans wont do. If we make these illegals, American citizens, then who's going to take their places? The next wave of illegals.

Do Hispanics not deserve the concern of their own safety and well-being? Even if they are illegal? What constitutes the loss of concern for another person in your opinion? They color of their skin, their nationality or their legality as a citizen.

I don't like illegal immigrants anymore than you do but that doesn't mean we should treat them as less than human.

Yes. All our politicians are pathetic. All they care about is money, fame and power. We need to choose wisely in 2008 or this country will continue to slide downhill. The illegals are not helping the situation, only exacerbating it.

Yes it's being overlooked. There are sheriffs in Texas saying that they are finding papers and cloths with arabic writing on them. You won't see that on the evening news. This country is being torn apart by both parties in D.C. The only way to fix it is to remove them all.

well no one in washington ever gave a s*** about homeland security. just a huge pork barrel project for pres cronies. a new level of gov't bureaucracy, that cool color code terror alert that tells us if rep hold on fear vote is slipping.
no one cares that millions of mexicans, or al-qaidas, are running across the border. dems want amnesty and millions of new ems, reps want cheap labor for farmers and bulders that support them.
