Why are black people called colored?

Question

Isn't it white people that turn red when angry or embarrassed,green when sick,purple when bruised and blue when dead?

I think white people are colored.

Colored is an old term for black people. The idea is that they were "colored" black. It was not meant as an insult it was a description. The NAACP is the National Association for the Advancement of Colored Persons and it is a group designed solely to help the Black race.

At one time we called the red man Indians, now we call them Native Americans; it is politically correct. the same is true with the term colored. or *****, black is the preferred term.

Also, black is considered "an absence of color," while the color white is a combination of all the colors in the visible light spectrum. So should whites be called colored? It's something to think about. When you're stoned.

people stress over it

I don't know...I don't refer to them as colored. I mean, hello everyone is colored. If I have to refer to there race I usually say African American. When you refer to mexicans you don't say "tan" you say Mexican. Dam I hate racism.
