I am having my house remodeled and half of my ceiling is gone so now my house is mosquito land. Last night I was up until 1:30 trying to kill them because they would buzz in my ears and eat me alive. Any ideas???

A nightlight with a shallow dish of soapy water under it, a net for your sleeping areas, and / or sitting a potted plant of cat nip near your bed or other areas you want to protect will deter them. Careful if you have felines. *giggle* Not as odd as it really sounds at first. I trust herbs before poisonous sprays any day.

You might try burning some citronella before you go to bed. I don't know how long it will last but you probably wouldn't want to leave it burning all night as it will be a fire hazard.

Also, depending on how big the hole is in the ceiling, you might consider getting a tarp to cover the hole before dusk. Mosquitoes don't usually come out before dusk so if you could just get it covered before dusk that might keep them from coming in.

Start taking Vitamin B. Mosquitos hate the smell of a person who has blood that is rich with it. I have a lot, and I never get bitten by mosquitos. If not that, then try the citronella candles, or get a mosquito net for your bed.
good luck!

Wear a deet repellent and that may keep them away. Another option is to try and find a mosquito net or something sheer you can place over you as you sleep.

Bananas help if you eat them citronella candles might help. And you could try a shallow pan with dish soap water. I do not recommend pest strips, although fly paper might help, just don't get your hair tangled in it.
