1: There are no pictures of Neil Armstrong on the Moon in which you can see his helmet visor, let alone any reflections in it. There are plenty of pictures, however, of Buzz Aldrin. This is because Armstrong had the camera for most of the time on the lunar surface.

2: There are NO pictures that show reflections of more than one person in the visor. I have seen the entire photographic record from Apollo 11, so I know whereof I speak. There are reflections of other objects such as the flag and the solar wind experiment, along with the other astronaut, but no genuine picture shows any such reflection as you are describing.

3: The flag does not wave. Seriously, think about it. With no air, what would happen to the flag? It would hang limply, looking a bit crap. So the flag had a rod sewn across the top to hold it out precisely because it WON'T wave in the vacuum. It was scrunched up for several days before being deployed on the Moon, so it has creases in it just like your shirts have if you don't hang them and iron them. If you look at the video the flag only ever moves when an astronaut moves it. At other times it is totally static, which is impossible UNLESS it is a vacuum.

So yes, Armstrong really did set foot on the Moon, along with Buzz Aldrin.

We did land on the Moon.

The flag didn't wave; the flag shook as the astronauts stuggled to plant it. Also, since there's no atmosphere on the Moon, there was no air friction to reduce the vibrations of the pole after the astronauts released it. It's a simple consequence of basic scientific precepts.

The "other people" were actually the reflections of the lunar module, Buzz Aldrin (the other moonwalker), and the instrumentation that they set up.

Not a single reputable scientist rejects the lunar landings. Would it not be scientists who would be the first to pick up on discrepancies in the photos? Instead, scientists vigorously defend the landings.

Contrary to what conspiracy theorists like to say, we don't have to take the government's word about the landings. Consider the following:

1) Apollo 11 left a reflector on the lunar surface. This reflector, which is used to determine the Earth-Moon distance, has been detected thousands of times by astronomers on Earth.
2) Independent radio observatories (even in the Soviet Union) were able to detect the Apollo radio transmissions coming from the Moon. If there wasn't a ship on the Moon, this would not have been possible.
3) The Moon rocks have been positively identified as being of lunar origin.

Evidence can't get any more incontrovertible than that.

This evidence proves, to the highest scientific standard, that we went to the Moon. There isn't a shred of scientific evidence that says that we didn't go.

Neil Armstrong really walked on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Buzz Aldrin really walked on the Moon with him. This is an extremely well-documented event and now there are even images from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter showing the descent stage of Apollo 11's Lunar Module that was left on the Moon's surface. The hoax theories are based on bad research and misinformation and were debunked years ago. Apollo 11 was real and so were the five subsequent landings.

More I think about it, I doubt that the Americans ever landed on the moon. It has been over 35 years, and since than nobody every set foot on the moon. At that time, I did believe that it was possible to land on the moon; however, decades later I became skeptical that it has ever happened. The technology of the 60’s was not up the level to bring men to the moon. There was no computers, satellite navigation, material and fuel technology on that level capable to do so. Only attempt I believe was ill-fated Apollo 13 mission. Look at present space program with all its problems. We cannot even successfully orbit around the Earth with all these shuttles’ problems today; and 40 years ago, they had six (!) successful missions to the moon in the course of 3 years! The political benefits of hoax would be tremendous, since it was peak of Cold War, and country needed distraction from war in Vietnam. The conspiracy theorists usually points out to the pictures and many problems with it. In the 70’s and 80’s there was not digital technology, but today we have an option to analyze images and find out many details about it. Many of them do prove that they were altered later time, which became big liability for NASA. Any case, it is up to you to believe that the man had a technology to travel such distance space 40 years ago. Today all space agencies and combined effort of Russia, China, and EU cannot to do so, even with present technology!

Of course he did. The flag was stiffened with a piece of wire so that it would appear to wave. I have not seen the picture in question so cannot comment on that. Two people (Armstrong and Aldrin) were on the moon at the time.

That theory has been foisted on people since the day they landed. And there have been a number of pictures produced (and I do mean 'produced') that show reflections and other things. But,no one has ever been able to prove conclusively that it was fake. And it wasn't fake.

edit - Actually, you would need an instrument more powerful than the Hubbel to see any remains on the surface from the Earth.

Go to http://www.badastronomy.com and read through it. The author debunks every reason conspiracy idiots come up with trying to prove we didn't land on the Moon. To date no one has come up with any proof it was faked. They all have ideas that are quickly explained as wrong ideas, but no one yet has presented any proof. Why not? Cause we really DID go there and it really DID happen.

Its a free society, you can believe what you want. I just wouldn't place much faith in what a handful of people say.

If we landed on the moon then the lunar lander's landing gear will still be there for you to see through a sufficiently powerful telescope, in addition to the flag(s).
