To be honest with you, being a Mets fan, fantasy-wise i'd stay away from El Duque for the sole reason that he wears down more and more as the season goes. The problem with that is the end of the MLB regular season is most likely your fantasy playoffs when you need your players the most.

With that said, even though El Duque is on a more competitive team right now, you'll probably get more out of Javier Vasquez in the long run and when you need him most.

Neither are great options as they're are getting a little long in the tooth but El Duque does pitch for the Mets. They are a potentially explosive offensive team which gives any starting pitcher a good chance to post a victory. On the flip side, Vazquez's White Sox have struggled this year and unless he gets traded soon, he's not an attractive fantasy player.

Javier Vazquez can't make it pas the 6th inning most nights, so I'd say El Duque is the better choice.

I would pick up Vazquez. He gets you K's with a decent ERA and the White Sox are hot. Hernandez is injury prone.

I would take Vazquez, just because he strikes a lot of batters. He does have great stuff, I remember from his Yankees days.
