Liberals and Democrats are a relatively small minority in the military. In 1997, conservatives in the military outnumbered liberals 23 to 1, up from 4 to 1 in 1976. Only 3% of "senior military officers" were "somewhat liberal" at the time.[19] A 2003 survey by the Military Times found that "military considers itself clearly more conservative and Republican." According to the survey, 57% of active military personal identified as Republican, compared to roughly one third of the general population. Two out of three military officiers were Republican.
No wonder liberals don't have respect for this country, they obviously won't fight for it.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Because most Republicans start out from the basis of patriotism and work backward to ideology, whereas Democrats tend to start with ideology and only after travel and seeing the rest of the world (if they ever do) do they come back to patriotism.
It has little to do with the actual values, save that my party is slipping toward socialism (which is not pro-American military by a long-shot).
I didn't enlist. I had the courage to be the first in my high school to turn in my registration card.
I was too cowardly to sign up (so were most of you, of course).
I have no trouble admitting that. Oh, there were other reasons, but the final truth is that.
They are my heroes. They are my wife's heroes. They will be my daughter's heroes.
You do a disservice to the liberal and democratic military personnel that protect us. You are sliding into political bigotry.
I am for the war. My family escaped Islam in the 1950s. We've been expecting this war for decades.
I treat President Bush with respect, and expect others to treat a Democratic President with respect. For any man of honor you can't do less.
See us. Keep fighting for what you think is right, but avoid the political bigotry. I understand generalizations. You understand what I mean.
Even if you don't, keep speaking up. That's how we learn.
Me, too.
Hope there's a patriot behind your words. I'd hate to think it was just a political bigot. We have enough of those. I argue with them every day, Democratic, Republican, or otherwise.

ok now even its not true this fact remains: just because someone or a group tends to vote democratic or republican it does not mean they can not vote the other lets just say your statement is true then obviously they feel that obama would have been better then McCain (and i am not saying its true) thats all you could see African Americans vote republican if they hit more on more of the issues that they care about. it's really that simple we as Americans have they awful habit of attaching the D's and the R's to people and it needs to end look at the candidates, whos the best for you?, vote for them

Yeah soldiers are patriots and so are Republicans, or at least conservatives.
What about the liberal who did that major study on "who really is compassionate." Exit polling of donation and volunteer areas found that conservatives of all income levels donated FAR more to charity and also volunteered more.

Its not about republican and democrat when you sign up. It's about signing up because you love your country no matter what your voter registration card calls you.
I could care less in a combat situation if the guy next to me likes Nancy Pelosi, Condi Rice or anyone else.

Clinton was paying enlisted men with food stamps back in 1997. That played a big part in that poll. Imagine serving your country and you have to suffer the indignity of looking like a lazy welfare recipient at your local grocery store.

Republicans tend to steer their spending toward more things like military funding and other ways to protect or improve America as a whole. Democrats want to spend money helping the individuals, (food stamps, welfare, etc.) and often cut military spending to make room for these services.
*sigh*
If only we could find that perfect balance...

Because one of the cores of conservatism is to do as they are told and will stand by the father figure regardless. Liberals are more likely to not let fear get the best of them and will say "bring it on!" why should we have to get them on their turf.

Think about this:
Who ran WWI ? democrat Woodrow Wilson-we won
Who ran WWII? FDR & Truman:We won(both democrats
Who ran Korea: Truman(We were winning and then Ike a Republican came in and gave up the store to the commies.
Who ran Nam: LBJ democrat, then Nixon came in and lost the war.
History has proven (except for Abe), that republican in war are losers, They are losers.
They get arrogant and do not fight war smart.
I think a lot of military is republican becaise a majority of them are not college grads are so dumbed down and brainwashed by profiteers like O'reilly, Fat *** Limbaught, Ugly *** hannity(all these guys are in it for the $ and they are brainwashing you republicans who fall for it.
They(GOP) then turn around and screw you by having your homes foreclosed on and taking aaway ore veteran benefits every day.
some of the current miitary are suckers who are beng taken for a ride.
