This is normal so don't stress. HaHaThey are cute little things and worth every effort. Handle him alot now as he has to get used to you and know that you won't hurt him. Try holding him on a diagonal angle in your hand or let him sit on you shirt as this will feel more like a tree. Pat him a lot under the beard and on the side of his face behind his eye. They love that. He will get better with age but baby beardies are always flighty.

Sit on the floor and hold him for short periods of time every day until he gets use to you . Heres a great web site with a Bearded Dragon forum

lol Dont your just love Beardies!! I have ELEVEN babies at the moment!! Okay, well lets see I would say try getting possibly a towel, or even a pillow case and try to kind of hold him in there..making a little cave for him..and try stroking his beard or his head..they LOVE to be socialized and now is a critical stage!!

this is an easy way of keeping him still all you need to do is hold both front paws inbetween your first and second finger i do it all the timeand they dont get away and it dont hurt them and makes them feel more secure, also when picking him out of his viv or tank hold your handover his head then slowly pick him up and also hold his back legs then he cant go any were but i wonder how old he is becasue i wouldnt hold a BD younger than 15 weeks the need some growing ! o yer we holding him with your first and secondfinger dont squeeze to hard it will hurt him but he will tame eventually

When you are holding it,sit on the ground,or floor,so if he jumps,he won't fall too far and get hurt.Try feeding him treats while you are holding him,and eventually he should get used to being handled and won't jump anymore.

Hold him against your chest and talk calmly to him...babies will jump until they are tame. Don't squeeze, just hold him firmly, pick up from underneath so he doesn't think you are a predator.

One of my favorite sites is anapsid.org.

hold him firmly over the tank but less often until the jumping stops, he thinks your going to eat him so his instinct is to run away, he'll calm down eventually.
