Tell me where you've been and I'll show you where you are going. BUT EVEN SO... If you want my future... forget my past!

I believe that bygones very strongly reflect your future. The things that we do in our lives have consequences. Our reaction to these consequences help to form our opinions and values which in turn reflect on our reactions to our decisions and consequences etc.

Or, as Jim Croce once said "After all, it's what we've done that makes us who we are".

The things gone by are - in part - our choices. They have led us to the ground where we now stand. They can be a good indication of our next step - each step representative of our learning (or lack thereof).

Our pasts reflects images of some possible futures... possible choices... possible lands we could inhabit. It's a good indication... but as there is choice - the next step is never totally predictable.

I find that when we move forward to make the future perfect for us, the past will always have something to do in the makings of the future :)

yes they are.
for me my past that includes my past decisions and dilemnas made up who i am today, and what they are to me and how will i use them today will definitely reflect what i will be in the future.

i think they definitely do, unless you do something drastic to change your behavior, your environment, whatever patterns contributed to those bygones...great question!
