1. Imagine - John Lennon - A song of hope and looking at what the world would be like if we cared for one another and were less materialistic 2. Nights In White Satin - Moody Blues - Just a beautiful tune - and it comes from what is generally believed to be the first progressive rock album 3. Like A Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan - Lyrically, somewhat mystifying if you really listen to the words, but its been named as the greatest rock and roll song more than once 4. We Gotta Get Out Of This Place - The Animals - This was everyone's theme song when we were in college back during the mid-'60's 5. I Can't Get You Out Of My Mind - The Collegiates - Ok, so not that many people have heard of this record since it was only a regional hit in West Virginia back during the late '60's - it only hit something like No. 52 on the national charts - so why is it on this list? Sentiment. The group's lead singer, Larry Ascough was a friend of mine. And, its a great song about lost love. Do I really have to stop at 5?
