Oh you are going to love my answer. Hahahaha. Seriously though. My son was a month early and he had the exact same problem. My doctor recommended two things. One gross, the other not.

Okay gross one... I was supposed to lubricate a baby thermometer and insert it into his rectum like an inch. Then I had to rotate it in a few fast circles. For some reason when a baby is born, the urge to go does not always produce something. The rotation gets the nerves down there to do there stuff. Really... It worked GREAT! And my baby was a lot happier.

Second... I was supposed to give my baby juice. I know, I know, the baby books tell you not to, but I figure if my doctor prescribed it, then it should be okay. Only one ounce a day of either apple or prune juice. The juice has a bit of fiber in it, and just that one ounce will help them do their business. Also, my son LOVED it, so there is a great bonus to that.

Good Luck with that one, hope I helped!

Ooh, ooh ooh... sorry. I just remembered. There is a book out there that researched all of the sounds an infant makes so that you know what the baby needs. I couldn't find its title, but it was on oprah and I am sure someone at a barnes and noble would know it! Try that!

Ask the doctor if perhaps the formula you're giving him is causing him to be constipated. Sometimes the iron in formula can do that. DON'T give him cereal without asking the doctor. He' s only 15 days old. He's not ready for cereal by a long shot!

Are you an expert in newborn poo are you? How often do YOU think he should be filling his shorts? If the baby is having formula, he is probably constipated. What exactly is your question?
