I was just about to listen to my music when all of a sudden a message appeared saying to save all my documents or else they'd be gone. It said something about remote (maybe remote access) and so I quickly right clicked on my computer and checked the remote and it was unchecked. So I knew no one was doing it. It also had a timer counting down from 30 seconds I believe. I don't remember much cause I panicked but now I'm on my brother's computer. Oh yeah I also checked the Sreensaver/Power on right click properties and nothing was wrong with that. Do I have a virus or something?? I've already scanned with SUPERantispyware, Symantec, Ad-aware, Trojan Hunter, and Spybot Search and Destroy on safe mode and nothing came up with any of them.

Note: All the above scanners are very good. I'm actually paying for Symantec and SUPERantispyware is the number one virus scanner. I use Zonealarm Pro and Comodo Firewall Pro so I see that there is no way for a virus. But is there??

**PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING BEFORE REPEATING WHAT I JUST WROTE**

In most cases, if the computer is putting up a timer before you have to shut down, a critical service has stopped. Judging from your description "Something about remote (maybe remote access)", it would probably be the Remote Procedure Call as there aren't any critical services that pertain to remote access. A buffer underrun or possibly a blaster worm may be causing this. There is a security patch from Microsoft that can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823980

This is just a thought, but I wonder if one of those security programs that you mentioned detected something it didn't like and shut down your system in an effort to protect it. It just doesn't feel plausible that a virus would do this and then warn you about what it was doing. A destructive virus usually works it's nasty ways in the background, and you only realize that you have a problem after it's way to late.

Have you rebooted the system? Maybe you might want to bring it up in Safe Mode first.

Hope this helps a little.

Super anti spy ware is NOT the top rated anty spy ware remover. Zonealarm is not necessary on XP or Vista.

Norton used to be good, until Symantec took them over, now Norton has dropped down the list.

The ratings are different - It depends on what PC mag you read.

I use - AD-Aware 2007 and Spybot, however If I get a real nasty one I use Spyware Doctor and Pest Patrol.

I recommend the following:

A free On Line scan from Trend House Calls
At this web site:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

If all the spyware and antivirus programs fail you can do it yourself.

Download "PROCESS EXPLORER" from Microsoft and it will give a VERY Detailed view of all the Processess running on your PC. Examine each one and you will find the Virus or Spyware. Set up the Columns to view the folder of the source file and you can manually delete them.

Good luck

Something told Windows to shutdown after 30 seconds. It sounds like a standard prompt that warns you of this and to save any data or else it may be lost. I would personally try to reboot from a system restore point and update and run your virus and spyware programs.

Did you do anything different shortly before this happened like click links to unknown webpages or installed a program you assumed was safe?
