and what i mean is using your hands and squizing on the fish to release the eggs but hopefully not killing the fish... iunno if that makes sense.

No it is not. Very well trained people do this in large fishes, such as trout at fish farms, but that's a totally different story than a small aquarium fish. No harm will come to the fish if you just leave it alone.

I doubt that that is healthy for the fish, I hope your parents really read up on how to keep aquarium fish, because all that worries me, I wouldn't recommend that
Like MM said, they might do it on bigger fish, but on aquarium fish?!?!
Just let your fish be, it will release the eggs when they are ready

It might actually harm the fish if its small. It really depends on the size of the fish :/

The best thing to do, is just to leave it alone. Let it happen naturally unless its having problems during pregnancy.

they wont be fertilized and not hatch.

It isnt good for the fish, but it does get done when it comes to stugents and sterlets for extracting caviar.

*I* would NOT be a happy camper if someone did that to me. Just because they're not mammals should not mean it should be done. Leave the fishies alone, they won't burst.
