Contaceptive pills can also regulate and lighten your menstral flow. Some types of pills can also help with acne so you have clearer skin.

She could just be on the pills to regulate her period or something. Just because she has birth control pills doesnt always mean shes sexually active. If shes your sister you should be able to talk to her about it. I was on Birth control pills and i wasnt sexualyl active because i would get at least 2 periods amonth. If your worried abotu it talk to her, or your mom about the pill, or look it up online. No one on Answers can tell you what to do. Good Luck

First of all, don't say anything. It isn't any of your business.
Other reasons to use the pill are to regulate periods if they are particularly heavy or painful, to help with ovarian cysts or polycystic growths in their breasts, to eliminate hormone-related migraines, or to help control hormone-related acne. Some girls use them simply because while they might not be sexually active now but figure they will be sometime in the future and don't want to be caught unprepared. Not necessarily a bad idea.

lots of times young girls go on the pill because they have painful or irregular periods, and BC pills can correct both problems for them. i wouldnt jump to conclusions just yet, now if you find some condoms, you might want to pull her to the side!!!!!!! but if you are concerned which i'm sure you are maybe you should have a sit down talk with her! and if she gets pissy threaten to tell your mom!!! good luck!

yeah their are other reasons why she could be on the pill, sever acne, to regulate her periods, helps control cramping and PMS symptoms.... but it is typically used for birth control and that alone. Doctors won't typically put you on the pill just for one of those reasons alone.

Hell im a guy and even i know there are many other reasons for women to use the pill - other than for just birth control.
And regardless even is she is sexually active you should at least be a bit relieved that shes protecting herself somewhat.

yes, they control and often shorten your period. they also may lessen cramping. a lot of doctors advise young women and teens to use them for prevention and aid in handling that time of the month with more ease. if you already know that she is sexually active, be glad she is taking some control of the situation and talk to her about using other protection for obvious reasons.....even if they are monogamous right now.

I had to take them to regulate my cycle when I was in 8th grade... I was NOT sexually active. They also help with acne... and other hormonal issues. But even if your sister is being active... I mean be happy that she is using protection... unless she's young, ya know?
